Looks like City are after him and seen crazy figures of €50m being mentioned! There has to be better value than that for a midfield controller that we might be able to get - Gundogan, Neves, Camacho, Witsel, Kramer, André Gomes, Casemiro or Enzo Perez

If money was no object - Veratti or Koke would be great.

for me, with regards to captain / leadership, Hendo likes to talk the talk.........but i just wonder does he actually even believe it himself?

Watch Hendo closely and you will see him spend a large proportion of the game trying to direct others.I think he would actually benefit from not being the team captain. He could concentrate on his own game and not need to worry about how things go tactically.

I used to think that the armband didn't mean a thing as long as you had leadership in different areas throughout the team. All of the great teams of the past had genuine leadership throughout the team. The great Liverpool teams had 4 or 5 captains within the team..... same with united when they came through in the 90s. Everyone used to go on about how Roy Keane was such a leader. Don't get me wrong, he was, but it must have been easy to be a leader of players who were all leaders themselves. Whereas our team has a lot of young players with a lot of potential - but i actually don't think there is much leadership there at all.

At the Sunderland game, the 2 guys sat next to me got talking about Henderson (one of the lads can't stand Hendo) and were wondering was he the worst Liverpool captain either of them could remember. They were talking about the likes of Redknapp......but I said "well who else out there would you give it to?" and both of them couldnt come up with an answer. It says it all really.

That is why, although it would be great to get some top quality young players in the summer - particularly a striker and a goalie - it would also make a lot of sense to get maybe 2 genuine leaders in as well. Experienced leaders. Xabi Alonso would be a brilliant signing but I can't see it happening.....

It would be so much better if he was called "Jimmy" Milner...

...that aside he put in some quality deliveries and put one on a plate for Sturridge so its a bid odd he's singled out, apart from the fact he's not called "Jimmy".

The thing is with Kolo leaving we are losing another senior player, I am hopeful that Klopp will bring in an Alonso or some such to have around this young squad as it is obviously lacking in leaders.

Klopp has the drawing power that we lacked and where always going to lack under Rogers so Alonso types are more of a reality now then they where a season ago.

            Liverpool are going places.

If Hendo is getting grief then Milner should be too.

Terrible corners, poor passing, doesn't really offer much, barely takes a man on when out wide, doesn't really do anything but run when in midfield.

Has done some okay stuff this season, but for me he's the most replaceable out of the midfield 3.

I thought he was very good at left back against City and yes he did take people on, one notable turn and spin the left wing.

His corners are dreadful though, if he can take decent freekicks then surely the technique is the same?

Well, according to Squaka Moreno has a better pass accuracy and has created more chances. They've both had the same amount of defensive errors.

this was milner at his best. great performance, lets hope he can show some consistency now. about ****ing time like.

in the post match interview the girl said that this is the 41st game he has scored in and when he scores he has never been on the losing side.

                              is this right.

5 goals and 7 assists in 22 league games. Not bad that!! If he keeps chipping in he'll probably end up with 7/8 goals and 10/11 assists which would be a lovely return. He's not been anything amazing but don't think he's been anywhere near as bad as said either.
