I wasn’t in favor of him playing CM when we signed in and considered him a squad player, when he played LB I thought that was it for him. He was brilliant on the run the final last year and has started this season even better.

He is a model pro, unbelievable engine and game smarts. He was chirping in Oliver’s ear all game, makes cynical fouls and never get booked because he is a nice guy James Milner. He won a few thumping 50/50s today and set the tone for the game.

I was wrong about him and he is a starter in my midfield when everyone is fit.

Love the fact that we spend big on our midfield and the two players who most presumed would be replaced (Gini and Milner) massively go up a gear to keep their places. Shows their character.

He is like the ultimate jack of all trades.

Hopefully we can squeeze another couple of seasons. Mad to think that he is the hardest worker in the team. Hopefully he has enough to adapt if he loses his legs a bit... and when I say "a bit" I mean once it returns to the level of the rest of the team.
