Putting emotion to one side, I wonder how often he'll play next season. Experience is great but there were signs this season his legs were going. I just wonder if now is the time to free up some room in the squad and get in a younger replacement while our stock is so high.

Just putting it out there, if he's happy with the odd game then I'd be delighted if he stays. Love the bloke.

I do kind of agree with you

There were signs for me that he was starting to flag especially when he was asked to play a full game

I wouldnt mind bringing in someone else and easing him out over the next 12 months with the view to offerring him a coaching role

I reckon maybe Naby, who was coming into his own I reckon, will start to play more possibly mostly at Milner's expense.

I think he'll play enough. His experience is absolutely crucial. Klopp always turns to him when he needs an experienced pro. He's basically our Gary McAllister now.

I thought he might end up at Leeds but now that seems really unlikely. I'll be delighted if he stays on here a couple more seasons.

The one thing I am thinking with this World Club thing I think we might have to be a little top heavy with players this coming season

You dont want to go away to that tournament and play the extra games and it make the wheels fall off what we might or might not be doing in the league. bearing in mind the tournament is in December which is already a fairly hectic period

I think he will stay, play and eventually be part of the coaching team. He might have been struggling a little of late but this is the end of a very long hard season. So I dont see any issues with his fitness

Yep but I dont think you can downplay them because of the time it is being played

That period puts a big strain on teams and isnt there a winter break in January which is going to condense the amount of games being played over time even more

Think Liverpool go straight into semi

as we go straight into the semi final, I think it will just be 2 games if we make the final, the problem is it comes in a busy December period so we might have to rearrange about 3 games to accommodate travel time etc. Similarly we will probably have to reschedule a game for the supercup early in the season. It becomes a question of when we play all these games.

Milner is great to have around and a decent midfield general and a massive presence on and off the field.
His ability to cover full back if going to be more and more limited due to lack of lightening pace.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

He's a brilliant last 25 minutes player and dressing room motivator. He'd also knock seven shades out of cunts like Ramos if needed too.

Such a great bunch of guys. What an amazing gesture.

James Milner got Liverpool's open top bus to stop outside the house of a Hillsborough survivor so he could show him the European Cup.

The moving gesture by the club's vice-captain took place following the end of the Reds' victory parade around the city on Sunday which attracted a crowd in excess of 750,000.

The bus was heading back to Melwood just after 8pm when Milner requested that it stopped outside the south Liverpool home of Andrew Devine.
                            Modifying post.

As for the future, I hope he stays this summer but he's out of contract next so we need to be looking to sort out a replacement this summer so they have a year to bed in. Or rather, replacementS (right back, left back, midfield).
