Quite possibly, hence saying IF he can grow some stones. Should his opportunities dwindle I think dww is right in saying it would be best for everyone for him to move on, but I still have that glimmer of hope he will find a good place mentally and start to fulfill his potential.

He is a good kid with the head firmly on his shoulders who lives his life as a true professional should but he really needs to take more risks when he gets the chance to play.

If he doesn't those chances will be far and few in between.

I hope he does it and he does it soon enough.

Hard work and dedication in training can help you only so much but he has to prove his talent and his abilities on the pitch.

I'm not sure if you watched friendly game Liverpool vs Bayer Leverkusen during the summer but in that game he moved freely, was quite a bit offensively minded, took some risk and chances and I thought had a pretty good game (yes I know it was a friendly match but still).

Performances like that make me think that he may be able to cut it but then he had so many average (don't want to say poor) performances that sadly make me think he won't be able to.

I think it's safe to say Allen's having a bit of a blip, but I still don't see Henderson as anything other than a younger Dirk (without any natural attacking instinct...). We have enough players who can sit in the middle of the park - what we really need is another attacking midfielder who can shoot accurately and often... Shelvey's the nearest we have to this at present.

...maybe because he gets what Brendan is trying to do. He knows the way he plays and the philosophy he's trying to instil within the team.

Brendan might have looked at what he inherited and thought he needed someone to come in and hit the ground running to help get this philosophy across. Henderson still looks confused by daily routine, let alone football philosophies.
