For those accusing him of regularly losing us points I may as well re-write history how I want to remember it and claim that he single handily won us loads of games too. If any genuine though was put into the comment then the obvious response will be highlighting the Everton red card and those couple of dodgy games, but if you could be so kind please enlighten me what all these other matches were when he cost us points and how this compares with other players in the team who may also have made a mistake here or there?

Rafa wanted to sell Alonso ... does not make him a **** player .. it just means he wanted to sell him for what ever reason ..
We suffer from terminal first 11 syndrome, if they are not in the first 11 they must be a little bit **** .... not always the caseAnybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015

This is the complete opposite of the reality. I always thought Lucas had the attributes to be a good player, but he totally lacked heart - in fact at times he was a complete ****house and that's why some people gave him stick. It's frustrating to watch a player pull out of tackles like Lucas did. He has become an excellent player just as I expected him to, but he was awful at times during his first couple of seasons.Originally posted by danperkins View PostLucas struggled no doubts and Rafa's stubborness to play him cost us games that's why i was well critical of him, but i never denied the guy didn't have heart, like a tackle and had balls,

What about having to rotate players due to tiredness? We can't keep playing the same starting line-up week in week out. If anything I'd say Henderson contributed to our win rather than cost us points.Originally posted by baitman View Postalthough true that lucas came good, how many games did the stubbornness of rafa probably cost us games and points. are we going to continue to ship results and points just to wait for a player to achieve some form
this is what the reserves or the loan system is for. we should only be playing the players who are on the top of their form.

Was this in Rafa's last season when Lucas was also accused of being a wasteful on the ball yet was in the top 5 most accurate passers and the top 5 tacklers in the league statistically?Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostThis is the complete opposite of the reality. thats fair enough if you refer to the west ham game, and maybe udinese, but for most of his other appearances he has been lacking at best, and often suspect.Originally posted by clanhuman View PostWhat about having to rotate players due to tiredness? i know we need to rotate, but he is no better than someone like suso or flanagan at the moment. on form only, they should be starting before hendo.
he might be getting extra starts just to shop window him... if he comes good then great. if we could get 10m for him i think he will be gone, sharpish.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

The thing is that neither of those two offer the same things as Henderson, so why not add Morgan or Yesil to the list? Henderson no matter what you think of his overall level of ability does have a real engine which he combines with decent short passing. At the minute we use Henderson at least partly because he is the only player we have who offers that sort of dynamism.Originally posted by baitman View Postthats fair enough if you refer to the west ham game, and maybe udinese, but for most of his other appearances he has been lacking at best, and often suspect.

I happen to like him and think he could be a very useful member of the squad."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

I think he just needs confidence and guidance as to what his role is for the team.

Bollix ... he has had the best tackling stats in the LG and that fact was a ****ing revelation to most people at the time ... he also was the best passer in the lg ... but it was always ...Sideways perhaps .... ffs he was the youngest ever Bola de Ouro winner ... he was not **** ... he only crime was being at Liverpool when Gerrard, Alonso and Masher were in there World Class Prime ...Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostThis is the complete opposite of the reality. I think there is a real problem with people extrapolating from their impressions of this sort of thing. Lucas wasn't a very physical tackler and even now doesn't 'fly in' very often. When he was playing badly people interpreted this as a lack of desire. I think it is very hard to extrapolate from what you see to what is going on in someones head.Originally posted by TheElephantMan View PostThis is the complete opposite of the reality. I think Nicey goes a little too far but his point that people held their opinions about Lucas long after they stopped having any basis in fact remains true. No one is perfect and I think people need to accept sometimes they read the situation incorrectly rather than trying to construct a narrative that means that they have always been right."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

I believe you need to take age into consideration for any player in the premier league. He's shown in the past year that he has developed for his age, and continues to improve at the moment. The turning point for me was when he came out in the press saying how much he wanted to fight for his place etc. Sincde then BR has gioven him a few chances and he's looked to grab them.
I think last season he was thrown in and there wasn't really much pressure or competition for his place - and he was so nervous playing for a big club he just wanted to make the easy pass & try not to screw up. At times we saw he had an eye for a defence splitting pass, but they were few and far between. But he has shown he has the abillity.
Now I see him as knocking Sahin down a level and taking his place, as Sahin is the one who's lacking the necessary athleticism and power to last a half currently.
If we play him in his proper position (CM) we'll see the right results in the end. Great for his confidence for BR to single him out after the Udinese/West Ham game for his contribution.
Your too good to be true, can't take the ball off you you got a heavenly touch, you pass like Sounness to rush. And when we're pissed in the bars we thank the Lord that your ours
