He's a young player with a great attitude and has the attributes and qualities way beyond his age and experience. I still maintain that in a couple of years (assuming he's still a Liverpool player) he will become a pivotal player for us.

If he can take a few chances too then we'll have a very good player in our team. Was muß, das muß.

Not many have questioned his talent, more so his attitude. He works hard but he has to show more belief in himself.
And whilst he has improved of late, he still needs to show more. What's the point of having all the talent in the world if you're afraid to show it?
It's in his own hands and I'm delighted to see he's starting to sense what he needs to do.Forwards.......

Plenty have. I'm not going to go back and find old posts. But there are lots who just think he isnt up to it.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostNot many have questioned his talent, more so his attitude. He works hard but he has to show more belief in himself.

I still don't tbh. Goes without saying that I hope he proves me wrong (hasn't yet IMO).

It seems to me part of the problem with supporters' assessment of players is that there's a tendency to short-termism. And simplistic thinking. And lack of knowledge about too many variables, from the psychology of each individual to how a football club works on a day-to-day basis, from the methods and intentions of the coaching staff to what it's like to be a professional athlete.
I'm not saying we can't have opinions, just that they're more likely to be wrong than right, and also mostly wrong even when they're essentially right..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

A couple of half decent performances (and that Blackburn game last season) in 60+ appearances does not mean he is up to it yet. He has not made it. He is far from making it. He has been woeful in 98% of his appearances to date and that's a fact.Originally posted by Alex View PostPlenty have. I'm not going to go back and find old posts. And people keep banging on about him getting into good positions - well that counts for nothing if you are not scoring or assisting although he did "assist" the first Suarez goal against QPR. Jury is still out for me and I wouldn't be disappointed at all if he is sold.My kebab comes with chilli sauce

I think hes hes showed quite a lot in the last few weeks and more often than not when he has played we've looked a better unit than when he hasntOriginally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostNot many have questioned his talent, more so his attitude. Also picking up on his character well it shows commitment to the cause and belief getting off your sickbed to put the type of shift in he did the other day at QPR

A couple of half decent performances? According to the fantasy premierleague site, he has played 505 minutes this season, with 2 assists. If my math is correct, that's less than 6 full games. Hardly been given a chance in the team to justify your ridicule.Substance > Style
