Add to that, he has 6 midfielders (Gerrard (can't sell), Sahin (on loan), Lucas(preferred choice), Shelvey(can't get 7m), Allen(just in) and Henderson(more than 7m/only saleable asset)

He could have done with 5 midfielders and sold one of them in exchange for a striker which we desperately needed.

After both Downing and Enrique didn't interest Fulham and when push came to shove, he had to make a choice on Henderson and I'm ****ing glad that Henderson rejectedit straight away.

At this moment in time, may be not because BR brought in his protege in Allen but there isn't much wrong with Henderson.

If anything, if we don't get Sahin next season, Allen will be pushed forward with Henderson covering both DM/CM roles when either of Lucas/Allen are out.

At the beginning of the season, neither of them were worth that much. Kelly still isn't worth 7m even now. Shelvey will probably get you that much now.

Henderson is just plain down ****.. As a midfielder you should be able to interchange and play anyway across the middle.. Its not as if you changing a striker and goal keeper - that is playing someone out of position... He had ample opportunities and he is young and supposed to be adaptable but he can't play and is useless... Plus he gets paid to play so all this crap about him coming right and he is still young is hogwash. Look at Sterling, if you got it you got it.

Barring his aversion to tackling, he has all the ingredients needed to cover for Lucas and be ****ing good at it

Also the same reason why BR was so eager to ship him out to a Championship outfit pretty quickly.

Spearing was attracting QPR also, spearing didn't want to leave the north west.

Why haven't either Kenny or Rodgers used him as their preferred deputy in that role in the Premiership?

Bottomline is Spearign was never going to make it. He didn't even have half the game intelligence that was needed for a DM/CM. Probably the reason why he is in the lower tier now.

Because he isn't a 'DM' and Kenny wanted him on the right or as a center midfielder. I thought it's that simple clearly

As for BR, we are 4 games in, and he hasn't yet needed to draft in Henderson. Why the judgement already when he was played him in the Europa games consistently in midfield and he has done well in both the games. Desperation much?

You'd get £7m for Downing (just about ) Adam Johnson went to Sunderland for £12m (he's not twice the player Downing is)

Young English players do have a premium, we paid it - as did Utd with Smalling and Jones as have Spurs and arsenal in the past.
