Not sure if its a confidence thing, I'm assuming it is, but how many times especially yesterday was the ball passed around and as soon as it got to Henderson he passed it back to where it came without a thought for looking forward. It's like when Redknapp's default mode was sideways. Often he ended up putting the already jittery centre back under more pressure.
Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde
It's difficult to judge the likes of Henderson when pretty much our entire team and way of playing has collapsed. I think he's a class act, the least of our problems. You could put Toni Kroos in the middle of our team and he'd struggle.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
I think he's very good and he has everything to succeed with us IMO, but I feel we are disrupting the midfield by making all sorts of experiments regarding Gerrard, like having Hendo drop deep to release Gerrard from his marker. It's stupid IMO as it takes the dynamism and movement from Hendo.
The dropping deeper thing to kickstart play isnt a problem
The being deeper in terms of when the opposition have the ball is
We appear to be playing a hybrid 4-1-4-1 / 4-2-3-1 system with Henderson dropping in alongside Gerrard this is one of our problems imo
The diamond allowed him to press higher up the pitch, the current system doesnt
Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."
Fluffed his lines on teh big stage...not the only one mind, but it was there for the lads to show what they are about, individually as well as collectively. He will bounce back but maybe the reality is he still has a long way to go and plenty to learn. Same age as Kroos btw.
"Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley
I was a fan of Henderson before we signed him, for attacking reasons like Comolli said. When in fact its his defensive work which has made him the pivotal part he is. He looked woeful defending in his first season
Anyone else thinking this vice captaincy/captaincy is having a negative effect on his game? Seems to get involved with fracas much more (part of being a captain I guess) rather than concentrating on his own game.
Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."
