I was shocked to read recently that he's made the most appearances for us this season by 3 games. Obviously other players have had more minutes, but even when not starting, Klopp still tends to involve him.

If we do go on to do something special this year, worth remembering in the summer when the inevitable "he's done", "didn't deserve a new contract" comments dominate every Hendo conversation.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

We see it at our club. Players give the fans respect so its given back. England had gotten better recently with stuff and I think it allows the players to come out against people like this to call out **** support.
          ...I do.

Can I start them now or do I have to wait until the summer?

On the bbc website last week they had a "pick your combined team" thing and i genuinely had a midfield of Fabinho, Thiago and KDB. With Cancelo and Foden being the other two City players.

Their midfield was all over us though. Is it because their front 3 are better at dropping deep? They just seemed to play through us easily.

Start now, definitely. If we go unbeaten rest of season or win the treble, you might not get another opportunity this year.

                  I’ll take my chance.

So he’s clearly not finished, he’s put in some good performances this season, but he’s not mobile enough to play against the top sides, the likes of city and Chelsea, and that’s been clearly exposed in all four games. He’d be absolutely fine in a midfield four, or in games where we aren’t so pressured down the flanks when Trent is playing higher, but he does not have the legs to cover wide and get involved centrally. He chooses the latter predominantly and leaves Trent with an impossible task.

He can play a role in most games, but the legs are going. So as I suggested at the time, the bumper contract was an odd move, irrespective of how well he defends Harry Maguire.

                    I think that's all fair.

Off the ball, he's been a weak link in all 4 league games vs City and Chelsea. And against others too, Brentford away comes to mind.

Well said - I’d add some more but my bias will shine through. He needs to take up the Milner role now and if I could only sign one player this summer it would be a starting midfielder who can play 8 but cover Fabinho at the 6. If that means we sell Ox, Naby and Milner goes then we need one more.

Hendo is clearly an inspirational figure but he’s not in our best 11 when everyone is fit

Declan Rice, I think Klopp could mould him into a fantastic player.

Tchouameni please or if we want to push the boat out and bring in a high quality fully developed RCM then go for Barella and then let Henderson take over the Milner role.

He’s moved out of our price range now - Tchouameni is the one but a lot of competition for him, I actually think Phillips might be an under the radar one, Bellingham doesn’t seem to be a 6 and I don’t think he moves this summer (could be Thiago replacement in time). It’s mad how much Saul has bombed at Chelsea because he was one I thought could do it.

Firstly I dont have any issues with Hendos contract. He will likely finish his career with us, and for me that is a good thing.

The game yesterday was tough going for the midfield, City were (are) very good and their formation exploited weaknesses with us all over the pitch. It was impressive that we solved many of them as the game went on, but we did struggle. Fabinho was isolated and lost his composure and we could not break through the City press meaning every pass was long or rushed.

In terms of Hendos performance it was not his best, clearly, and as City are the bench mark is poses a few questions for the future.

I think his future role is increased by his versatility and at times introducing him from the bench has had such a calming influence on us and enabled us to see out games. What we need is succession planning. We need someone young who Hendo can mentor into his position, whilst given the volume of games still having Hendo as an important person and leader within the squad.

We are widely talked about as the best (second best - we wait and see) team in the World, no way are we doing that with any passengers.

I wonder who we will play on Saturday, my guess is we rest Hendo, play Naby and then Hendo comes back in vs Utd, who he had a brilliant game against earlier in the season.

He's good but the 'at least £150m' comments from Moyes make him unrealistic.
