Yeah he’s not worth anywhere near that though and is refusing a new contract.

Surely he’d jump at the chance to play for Klopp?

I think Moyes saying that was as much a message to Rice as anyone else.

When the player is right we do break the bank and I dont think anyones is going to pay £150m for Declan Rice, so you never know.

Surely you’ve heard of Manchester United……. He’d help them hugely by the way and may be worth 150m to them

It’s mad how much Saul has bombed at Chelsea because he was one I thought could do it.

He would probably cost as much as Tchouameni and Leeds might even push his price tag into Barella territory.

Prefer to go after a player that seems to have more quality than Philips if we are spending the money he would most likely cost.

He only has to look at how they are ****ing up Jadon Sanchos career to know he doesnt want any of that.

Man U must make it tricky for a player. They will pay the highest wages, will pay whatever the selling club wants. But they are ****e and constantly rebuilding, who was the last signing they made that was a success? Who have they improved?

If I was Rice I'd stay at West Ham and run my contract down ahead of going to Man U.

we don't talk about Hendo no no no
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

With Hendo imo it's not his mobility or fitness, it's that he seems to be struggling technically. I know he was never amazing technically but it has been a part of his game that has declined this season. When we are playing teams that high press and fast, you need to have players that are comfortable receiving the ball and have the ability to play in those tight spaces. Any player can be out of form for a period of time, it happens & Hendo has been brilliant for us over the years in fairness to him even if he does have limitations.

What I have noticed that is so frustrating is he commits himself so easy. He is so eager to get the ball, the slightest feint or dummy and he's gone. He's not as relaxed in possession as he previously was, everything is uncomfortable and hurried. We got used to him being the calming influence when things got hectic. The games vs City and Chelsea have really highlighted his struggles in possession. Nobody will question his work rate or heart but he is not in the best moment currently and for large parts of the season imo.

He still has alot to offer and is much better than he is currently showing but against the big sides, it's clear this season in particular that his ability with the ball isn't where we need it to be. Hopefully he kicks into gear the remainder of the season as we do need him at his best.

I don’t think Hendo has ever looked relaxed on the ball, maybe against a team set up with 10 players behind the ball but never against steam that presses hard.

Alot of the times over the last few years he has been key in us seeing games out and being a calming influence. I don't rate him technically but mentally he has been huge for us.

It’s not the mentality but the calmness under pressure that I’m talking about though. He often gives the ball to our players too hard or too soft & invites trouble is more what I mean.

I don't disagree that he's not the greatest passer around but his mentality and that of a captain has been very beneficial to us in the past when we are trying to see games out. What does annoy me about him is that he commits himself to the tackle so early every time and often gets bypassed. As our captain though he constantly talks and communicates which is vital and he is a good leader in fairness to him but as a leader you have to be playing well yourself to inspire & Hendo isn't doing that currently. But I do agree that when it comes to a real high tempo game, against technical sides where keeping possession in tight areas is key ... he does struggle.

City and Chelsea games this season have been a bit of an eye opener that maybe we need to bit better in those tight areas & imo some pace in there is sorely missing. In the prem you need pace everywhere these days, the games are just so fast. Hendo, Fab, Thiago, Keita are not very quick at all. Chelsea and City swarmed us in that midfield and we couldn't seem to do that to them. As Hendo's replacement, an athletic & technically gifted player imo is what we should be going for. Whether or not we will look for that in the summer remains to be seen but imo it is a must have.

Right now if he is put under pressure he doesn’t have the technical ability to get himself out of it. I think I misunderstood how good Rodri is, forget that KDB is on another planet and has omitted that rat Bernardo from my mind - they are superb and work bloody hard so it’s not an easy ask. He did struggle vs Kante and Kovacic also but again they are top tier

Give him time and he can be really good - United and Everton away. I don’t buy into on field leadership from him tbh - he shouts a lot and blames others for some of his bad passes. His off the field stuff is second to none.

I am assuming Milner and Ox go - Naby may also. Thiago and Hendo get there share of injuries + Fab misses games…… we need a powerful/technical midfielder who can play 6 and 8 at a high level to come in. That plus a back up RB at Tsimikas level and we are set

that City midfield is and was brilliant against us, although we were so below par and it's one of the rare occasions when we looked well and truly rattled but still managed to come away with a point.

Hendo will have to improve now in the coming games, he's been way off. Milner, Minamino and Ox are bankers to go. I would say Naby too but I don't think Klopp will let that many leave from the midfield. Jones has regressed this season which is unfortunate, Elliot will take time to get back to full whack and Morton looks way off what we need. Whatever happens come the end of the season, we should and I am sure we are looking for replacements and I'm fully confident we will strengthen he squad and first team again in the summer.

Jeezo, we are only 1 point behind Man City with their amazing all conquering midfield.

                              We can’t be that bad

Hendo is a better captain than Gerrard was and you get the feeling that his relationship with staff, both upstream and downstream, is better.

He is supremely disciplined, he keeps the rest of the team disciplined and we STILL rarely lose in games he plays.
