Thought Origi and the subs done well but losing just 1 of the front 3 allowed them to push up by 20 yards and throw our whole set up out of sync and give them confidence.
The gap between the front 3 and the rest is too great. Remember when Brewster was going to fill it eh?
Who knew being 6 points clear and unbeaten could be so frustrating.

agree with this, when anyone of the 3 is missing things seems to go stale. IMO moving Mane from the left was a mistake. He has been tearing it up on the left and is the best player in the world in that position.
Mo hasn't been playing well but I think we can see now how huge of a player he is, having him and Mane making runs in and around opposition backline allows Bobby to drop deep and receive the ball. Yesterday Origi done nothing and his work rate is nowhere near what we get from Salah. Firmino had a poor game and when he tried to drop deep there was nobody making runs up top. It was only when we got some attacking midfielders on the last 15 or so they looked petrified.
The problem with our AM's is that every one of them seems very injury prone. Lining up with Fab/Gini/Hendo against a completely defensive setup was a mistake. United are not a good side and we made them look better than they are & Ole won the tactical battle for the first 50 or 60 mins.... which is mildly irritating.
As regards Hendo, he looked knackered & to add to that he was moved out wide. Not only can he not play there but he was stifling Trent getting forward. How many times did Trent try to cross the ball from too deep an area... so frustrating to watch! Keep the lads fit somehow and we can rotate more in the midfield and have more options against different setups. Whether we can keep them fit though is another story.

We've just won 17 PL games in a row, SEVENTEEN! A run that coincided with this midfield trio playing together for the first time over a long period. But it was wrong to play them?
Henderson wasn't very good yesterday but neither was anyone else. Fabinho was frequently guilty of lumping the ball forward under little pressure but whatever.Vive la France

I would like to see Origi play through the middle, but means moving Bobby to accomodate this...Originally posted by greenturnip View PostOrigi is so disappointing at times. He seems to lack any sort of presence or confidence. It's like he knows he doesn't really belong in the starting line up. His first touch can be so poor. Despite his legendary status due to last season, I cannot see how he is going to flourish here.

Origi really doesn't have the game intelligence or movement up front for 90 minutes. He'll score vital goals against top clubs I'll give you that but he seems to have the Big Belgian Striker curse. You know the other two.Originally posted by baitman View PostPlay bobby at the tip of the diamond

Made Ole's grunters look half decent yesterday by being slow and ponderous at the back. If we just played to our strengths and moved the ball quickly we'd have beaten them comfortably. When we lose momentum with wayward long balls or playing it sideways, we get closed down, give the ball away too easily and more mistakes creep in. We gave them time to keep reverting into a solid defensive unit, time and again. With some urgency from the back, we'd have done what we did in the last 5 minutes for the whole of the second half... they wouldn't be able to live with us at any kind of pace.

To me its where you have that possession that mattersOriginally posted by Norbs View PostWe had 68% possession, how much more do you think we could possibly get?
Brendans sides use to have huge amounts of possession (particularly in the latter half of his reign) and yet we were often blunt in attacking areasBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."
