It's a bit of a pointless discussion, this world class thing. There's no common understanding of what it even means.

To me, by definition, World Class means playing at a high level at your club & transcending that form to your international team consistently while assisting your team to win major honours.
So the definition of world class is overused & poorly adjudged by crap pundits!
However, Henderson to me, is a very good player & is in the international class which I regard a step below World Class.
Just my tuppence!Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

It is, but a much maligned player having those words mentioned around him will boost his legend outwith his own fan base.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostIt's a bit of a pointless discussion, this world class thing. There's no common understanding of what it even means.
My Dads a sort of passive football supporter. He likes Messi, loves Barca. Loves Brazil. A bit of glory hunter.
We watched the CL final together and he was sooooo dismissive of Hendo. Basically saying ‘amazing for an ordinary player like Henderson to be lifting the trophy’ ‘when you think of the previous captains’...
It’s supporters like that ‘monkey see, monkey do’ that will respond to this and he might finally get a bit of credit outside of his own support who also don’t really appreciate him.
It’s pointless.
But what isn’t pointless?Modifying post.

I think his professionalism, commitment and work rate and unquestionably world class.... as are most at LFC these days. I think his passing is under rated and we don't see that best of that side of his attacking game as he has been played in role for the last few years that requires a bit less finesse and more dogged determination and tactical discipline.
Technically is where he is lacking imo and I doubt there is many that would say he is world class in that department. World class is thrown around a bit too much these days and should be reserved for the truly special talents but nice that Hendo is getting some recognition.
