Skimming through this thread reminds me why I like Henderson so much.
He’s had stick from pretty much day 1. He takes it all and comes back stronger every time.
He also represents the club so well. This is a guy who will play in his second Champions League final that can recall lining up in a team with the likes of Jay Spearing, Christian Poulsen, Paul ****ing Konchesky and Stewart Downing.
I hope so much that his journey with the club includes him stood holding aloft the Champions League trophy (and the League hopefully) because he represents the journey we supporters have been on. He embodies it. A young lad when he joined, a captain now.
He’s never had a song FFS, and he’s never once moaned about it.
It will bring a tear to the eye when it happens.

He has to keep winning the fans over and over again too. It's like dejavu now, this time last year he was getting praise from all sorts and rightly so. This carried on into the summer for his England performances. This season he has captained one of the greatest teams English football has ever seen, lost one game to the actual greatest team (statistically) England has ever seen and he's got grief all year until he's been allowed to attack a bit more and has got a couple of assists.
