He wasn't particularly great for England in the summer, and people losing their **** over England isn't evidence that he was. In support of the suggestion that as well as being underrated, there are also plenty of people who go over the top in praise of his game. Hope that clarifies.

Not sure anyone rational ‘lost their ****’ over the job he had in that England team, which wasn’t particularly exciting - ‘the pivot’ as Southgate called it. Yet he did his job well and was disciplined. England didn’t play anyone decent but he did play his part in the success the team had.

I’m not sure that many people go over the top though particularly in his role with us. More that he gets a harder time than most. He’s been pivotal in our success over the last two seasons yet, a lot of supporters would have him on a list of potential players to sell until recently. Our midfield provide a crucial platform for the attacking three and also have to cover the full backs.

Its the constant playing him defensively thats wasted his skills and made him to look average. Having him forward is where he should always be. The more he plays in that position, the more people will see that hes actually very good.

I'd say that's true of certain players like Kuyt or Lucas for example, but I'd love to know who these people are that overrate Henderson as I certainly haven't come across them.

I'd say he barely gets the credit he deserves, even from his biggest fans, again whoever they are.

Could never hate him. Had many doubts about him as a player over the years but always liked how he comes across as a bloke.
