Total fume. Over the football writers player of the season FFS.

I don't recall ever being bothered about it when someone else won the League.

And we didn't just win it. We destroyed it. Who lead us as we rampaged over every team in the League? Jordan Henderson

City have been bitter most of the season. They've turned into entitled pricks.

They're worse than the Utd fans they've always hated.

To a certain extent I can see why it might piss off Man City and their fans, that 3 out of the 4 times that they have won the league one of our players has got the PFA player of the year award, and it is easy to say that it's unfair in hindsight, but that is largely taking it out of context.

Under normal circumstances these awards are made (and certainly voted for) before the season is finished, and often before the winner of the league is known, in 2013-14 and last season the award was made before the title was decided, and the player of the year doesn't go hand in hand with the title winners.

In 2013-14 Suarez won player of the year, which is difficult to argue with and the title wasn't decided when the award was made. Last year the title race went down to the wire VVD won the award before anyone knew who would win the league, again he was the outstanding player. The only reason anyone might think that this is a controversial choice is because it tends to go to attacking players, anyone who watched any amounft of football could see the huge effect than he had. The only season that City more or less had the title wrapped up was a couple of years ago and that was they year Salah scored 44 goals in all competitions, again difficult to argue that anyone else deserved it more. Perhaps I am biased but I don't think don't think that any of those awards weren't justified. Looking back over the last 10 years in a broad picture it does look odd that a City player hasn't won it but IMO our players that have won it in the last 10 years have been the probably the least controversial winners. So he can **** off.

IMO the bull**** that he is talking is mind games in an attempt to get the idea of some kind of bias towards us from the football authorities out there into the public minds. If he really gave a **** about the award why not suggest that it be voted for and awarded when the season is complete?
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

This thread is testament to just how far he's come as a Liverpool player.

Glad we're all such astute judges of a player

This is the FWA award though, which last year was won by a City player.

There was enough crying when Henderson was put on the Fifa 16 cover so no wonder a players award has ended them.

Well chuffed for him, but don't really care about the individual awards. It's a team game and we're the best team, I see it more for the individuals themselves, not sure why these things get so much fanfare.

The only times I feel strongly about it is on a case like Suarez for example where he thoroughly deserved it and regardless of how much people in key positions wanted to shaft/deny him, they couldn't because he was that good.

Exactly my thoughts, I'm surprised that people are surprised by this - until recently there was a lot of discussion amongst Liverpool fans to as if he was ****e or not, let alone what opposition supporters thought.

Also, if he played for a competitor there would be no doubt Est would be up in arms about it too, the general consensus about non-Liverpool players are that they are ****, regardless of what they've done or achieved. I assume that's part of the human psyche and can be applied to people regardless of the club they support. For the over the decade I've been on here, I've seen many a poster declaring players (far superior to Henderson) poor, dreadful, awful among other things despite being key components of Champions League, World Cup, league winning squads on multiple occasions.

What I don't get is how anyone could have voted for Wan-Bissaka, Ings, Traore, Evans or Madison. Seriously dilutes the credibility of the award, some of those haven't even been the best player at their respective clubs!

They should have given him this award 15 years ago for this
