No need to be a such a patronising dick. Playing football to a reasonably high level and watching it almost religiously for 20+ years (not just our games) doesn't count for anything when judging if a player has talent or not?

I also agree that the mods have been a bit smart arse with Harv. He did write a well reasoned response but just because you two (Muddled and Rich) don't agree with it you shot him down in flames which is a bit uncalled for considering you're both mods.

I too can call on my lengthy spell as the Ring O'Bells' number nine, my vast six-a-side experience (sometimes seven, sometimes four and goalie when) and watching football on the telebox but I also combine that with some common sense. I don't believe I have 'licked Ibe's ring' but I can see enough of his raw talent to think he has the potential to come good with the right tutelage and shouldering some of the responsibility himself. Sure, he has bad games but that is to be expected of somebody young. He has been in and out of the team (form, injury and better options) and he's going to have some stinkers. You don't think confidence is an issue? Then why do we have streaky strikers, etc? It's a massive thing in sport and why you can ask what Steve Peters may have brought to our title challenge a few years ago.

I believe it's a trait amongst our support (and other teams no doubt) to dismiss the talent we have, not understand that every player can't hit the ground running and some may struggle to find their feet initially. We then praise a great cameo and call for them to replace whoever is the escaped goat. See Teixeira, Pacheco, Suso, Partridge, Ojo, et al.

I get excited when I see Ojo, but he's played a handful of minutes against Bournemouth and Exeter (as well as a few others). We are bigging him up for the fall that he will no doubt receive next season when he's inconsistent too.

I'm still of the opinion that he needs to be elsewhere next season, whether that's via a loan, or sell with a buy-back clause. I just think he needs a different environment, without the pressures of Liverpool, to develop and allow for the odd dodgy game here and there.

i agree mate. although kloppo doesnt want to send our best young talents out on loan i would possibly send him to huddersfield to kloppo's pal wagner and see how he does there.

he needs a change of scenery and although there are glaring weaknesses in his game, there isnt a 20 year old around who knows how to do everything.

you cannot write off a kid with his potential that easily.

Rich or I haven't broken any site rules and we are both here as posters first and foremost. If Harv wants to open his legs for an easy nutmeg, I'd have taken that before I was a mod and whilst I am a mod.

Ojo has played for the u21's/u18's as well. Granted - the standard isn't the same, but it still tells you a fair bit about a player....and Ojo ****s all over them at that level. Especially since Klopps been here.
