Sell a 20 year old kid off the back of one up and down season.

People expect so much from players as soon as they get in the team.

Flavour of the month/year Leicester have Mahrez (25) Kante (25) and Vardy (29)

The next best flavour is payet (29) yes you can add Delli Alli but that lad played 2 seasons at lower level before he got signed by Spurs.

He is a young lad with bags of pace and a decent strike and if it can be refined he will be quality.

He reminds me of a young Sturridge in some respects.

A proper pre-season with Klopp will be the shake down the squad needs. Then we can start forming opinions and we'll know who to move on.

He doesn't have thew football brain or awareness unfortunately. If he did, he would be immense.

          Ojo on the other hand...

He doesn't have a notably good shot, he has nothing other than pace. And it's not as if he has been good and is suffering a dip in forn, he's not done anything to suggest he has the necessary ability.

I do tend to agree that players are written off way to early. But if we want to kick on and be one of the best. I dont think we can take players along like him unfortunately. A player needs to make an impact within a few months, or we need to find someone else. If had a blistering run of form, and then dropped off. I could understand keeping him the same way we did with Sterling. Unfortunately for him we had maybe 2 games out of him that were at a good standard, but the rest seem to be lacking.

For me its a question of ability rather than form. I just dont think Ibe has that ability at the level we require. That being said given a bit of time working under Klopp and taking his ideas in might make him adapt and flourish. Its hard to know.

Ojo hasn't done anything other than showing glimpses of his ability against lesser opposition. Ibe struggled in the semi-final of the Europa League and has been inconsistent with erratic game time all season. His inconsistency is typical of a young player and one who may be low on confidence which can lead to him (and others) making the wrong decision or dwelling too long trying to think of the right one.

We have a lot of raw, exciting young players but patience is the key. We'll praise Ojo when he's showing glimpses of skill and berate him when he can't do it week in, week out. Just think back to all the clamour for Ibe to replace Sterling. We've seen it with Origi and people questioning the purchase when he was on loan at Lille. He was probably coasting through games and counting down until the summer! He then comes in and because he doesn't score a perfect hat-trick, he's worse than N'gog .

Ibe may not push on, but I think our expectation of our younger players is set way to high.

I think we as supporters are desperate to have young players come through and do well for us. It makes you proud of the club and the work they do with long term training. Its way more satisfying to see a kid you have followed since age 18 break through and have a long sucessful career.

I also think we are looking for another Gerrard, Carragher, Fowler type person. Probably why Flanagan gets so much love.

I've noticed he really struggles when he comes on in high pressure games. Think it's a confidence issue which affects him to the point that he looks lost.

I accept all of that but you'd expect to see glimpses from genuinely quality players, even a a young age. We saw it from sterling and Origi.

Yep I agree, I dont think we have seen the same thing from Ibe unfortunately.

He was fantastic pre-season. Think it's a pressure/performance related issue. He just seems to freeze and not play his natural game.

Brilliant in those few games before injury when we recalled him from loan too. Maybe needs a Sterling Norwich performance to get going again or maybe a few boos from fans will spur him on, as we're good that way.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

It was a strange sub to make and that wouldn't have helped Ibe but even taking that into account it's hard to see anything remotely resembling football intelligence in his head - its the same thing every time - takes ball, is faced up by opposing full back, runs into same or attempts to go inside and loses possession. Rinse and repeat.
