I think we should aim to make at most 3 signings for the first XI - a goal scorer being the main one.
There is a strong argument for getting a keeper but the type we need will be very pricey and I can't even think of one available. I think we should look to find a way to develop a young one now Mignolet has become passably decent.
One of our 4,000 centrebacks has to turn out to be good a good accompaniment to Skrtel and/or Sakho, no?
Who are the options really? Skrtel and Sakho are alright, Can should be pressing for a midfield place, Lovren's ****e, Johnson and Toure are off, Coates can't even get a regular game for the mackems, Ilori is untested, Wisdom hasn't really kicked on. So really it's Skrtel and Sakho and that's it (unless Lovren miraculously learns how to play football in pre season).
Centre back has to be right at the top of the list. A young (and fit) Danny Agger would be great!
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

I really think a goalscorer (arguably two) have to be higher priorities. Everything Rodgers does stands and falls on making our attacking game work to take the pressure off the defense.
Despite our good run I still feel that he isn't great at organizing a defense. I'd still rather a good coach come in that spending big money on a CB again.
I think Ilori and Wisdom would be good options if we keep a back three. Wisdom was getting good reviews at the start of the season and you expect young players to be a bit up and down. His ability to play fullback should help him fit the role of right of a three. If we do go back to a four though I think your argument become stronger again.
Incidentally, if we keep a three I think Can should stay at the back.

Yep it's all about goals for me. It should be obvious, we conceded loads but scored way more and got within a whisker of the title. Is doing the same as everyone else really ever going to get us there again? Even the much maligned Newcastle team that came close, they came close by being different, good at attack but **** at the back. If we follow the established path we'd just be outdone by those who can do it better than us with more money. We need to be back to our mentalness from last year.

We desperately need goals, to put it in context last season Suarez and Sturridge scored 52 league goals, this season (so far) we have 45 league goals in total. The rest of the squad is contributing about the same but we are missing the strikers goals.
Scoring goals can mask alot of issues elsewhere in the side last season we where chaotic at the back at times but look where we ended up. I would much rather chuck money at players who will get goals because IMO going from no real strikers to a couple that can get 15-20 goals each will make a much bigger difference than making an itterative improvement on the quality of our centre backs.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
It's all about goals these days. They hide a multitude of sins. We need to blast away as much of our budget on people who create and more importantly score goals. We also need to have a plan of how we will create chances. For all our attacking talent, we create very few clear cut chances. Watching highlights from years ago, we were the best at putting chances on plates for the strikers. Now they almost have to create the chance themselves.

Spend the money on a proper striker , get back to playing the same as last year and we can all enjoy watching us again destroying teams with the high intensity blowing everyone away ,

YES!!!!
If we have to, sell Sterling and sign Dybala or Lacazette, Coutinho in the hole with Lallana competing and Markovic & Origi in the squad.
