Is being a fan accepting mediocrity though? Surely any manager that is doing well will be supported, any that is not will not. Same as at any other club - we are no different, no better no worse.

    Superfans though

It's not about being a superfan at all. It's about the fickleness of it. He was very good two years ago, now he's a charlatan.

Rodgers has his failings, and documenting them in here has been done to death, but why not let him leave with a little bit of dignity? It's up to the owners to lead on this, because clearly, bar him being judged in the papers and reading that he's likely to be sacked, that message hasn't been relayed to him by his employers. It's a bit **** isn't it?

I hope they don't, because that would be entertaining in here, leading up to Christmas.

They are his quotes, you can interpret them as you choose.

I'll let you lead on the respectful tone. Personally I've only once or twice referred to his new teeth and tan in 3 years. The majority of posts are about his failings as a coach, it's a forum, he's still the manager - so I expect things will continue for a while.

Equally I'm not sure this forum will work if nobody posts on it.

                Fair enough.

It's clear that it's got to the point that him staying has become untenable and he knows it. His quotes are a defensive mechanism simply. He's no Hodgson to deserve all of the other crap he gets though.

He was good two years ago - now he's not & importantly there are no signs of that changing

I agree - the owners really need to stop dragging this out...

Dragging this out is hurting everybody.

Those quotes read as though he's fully aware the writing is on the wall.

Yep, even if we win the writing is on the wall. Dragging this out - which we inevitably will do, is going to be brutal.

He'd be pretty ****ing stupid not to be aware!

Edit - once he is gone I won't feel the same elation I felt as when Hodgson was P45'ed.... I ****ing hated that old codger - it'll be bittersweet after the 2012/13 season which was absolutely fantastic to watch

However I'll be delighted & excited at the prospect of the future under a new experienced manager & actually start looking forward to football again
