We havent missed Allen, theres no ****ing need to mention him

Might as well mention the tealady

I fear hes getting desperate, the comments last week about justifying Lovrens inclusion and ****e like this isnt going to come in for anything but criticism because its so ****ing bat**** mental its unreal

My advice to him would be shut the **** up and get the team playing because talking about it isnt making any ****ing difference to how fans (sorry we mustn't be genuine superfans as we are criticising) perceive him
Here I disagree with you. Allen is your typical player fans hate, but he would have made a huge different last weekend, because he does very simple things to keep the ball moving and retain possession. Something that was sorely missed as our midfield kept handing the ball to them with runs into blind alleys and woeful passing.

He has been quietly excellent for us in many games in the last two years, but he's not running at people and scoring worldies so he's easy to under-appreciate.

If people don't leave the personal stuff. Either direct or indirect. I'll start swinging my trusty old Sin Bin hammer.

The trouble is, Allen can't do it under pressure.

Allen is actually a very good player who is cool under pressure. When our team worked in 13/14 he looked very good.

Now...... The problem is our whole team is screwed. We can put anyone in that midfield and it just doesn't work anymore. We can mix & match, drop & promote, makes no odds.

It will work with everyone or it will dork with none of them. We could put Pogba or Marchisio in our midfield and we'd still look rubbish. It's not player ability, it's the managers tactics.

I'm perplexed tbh because I think somewhere Rodgers has it in him. But he needs to get it right, and in a formation that has longevity as opposed to a few months and then collapse.
          Forwards.......

I agree with that. I think Rodgers' system is too fragile - there is just too much to go wrong with it.

Indeed. I'm tired of seeing our players be put under pressure in midfield with no options. We've been trying to play it from the back with a keeper and centre backs who can't play that way.

They get the ball smashed to them in midfield and suddenly there's no options. They're normally facing their own goal and be it Hendo, Can, Lucas, Milner or Allen they all **** up. Ability? Not down to that. Down to options in possession.

You can almost see them thinking - what do I do with this next? where should I be? I honestly think it's a bit too complicated.

All this blindly assumes my favourite players are players who score 40 yard blockbusters and show off all game

One of my favourite all time players was Ronnie Whelan who quietly went along his business as an unsung hero but was basically a major cog in the works of our past teams

My problem with Allen had always been he's a nothing player. In midfield you either have to affect the play at one end or the other. That's by either winning possession or defending or creating chances or scoring

Allen does none of these. Yes he circulates possession but in order for that to matter he's got to be doing something defensive which he absolutely doesn't. Equally if he's not winning possession he needs to be creating chances or scoring goals. The fact he does neither means he's a luxury and circulating possession isn't anywhere near enough

Allen is the type of player you bring on when you are winning 3-0 and need to see out the minutes

If you want midfielder to win you possession and dominate the opposition in a high pressure situation then he is not your man

Does that include slagging off the team and manager and MD and FSG too?
                        Oh I don't know.

****ing hell lads - we're missing Allen now?

I could relate to seeing Sturridge as a potential saviour last year but we're really ****ed if we think Allen is the answer (unless a midfield bed-wetter is really what we're missing)
