Excellent post and far too sensibleOriginally posted by Oberon View PostMatt, you're fighting a lonely battle, everyone knows we should get every transfer target we're linked with and all those transfers should be the best ever signing made.
I'm really pleased with this season, we are clearly better than last year and are for the most part excellent fun to watch. There are ups and downs of course but there are a lot more ups than there has been since 2009.
More important than that we have sensible owners who seem to want to build a sustainable, successful club and the Manager is a good young coach, with media skills that have changed opinions about Liverpool FC and keeps us in the sports news for the right reasons.
Added to that he is building a young side that should be able to grow together, it has already shown that they can win without Gerrard or Suarez.
Patience isn't something that football fans are renowned for but having waited 24 years I can wait for a dynasty and not need a quick fix that would end up setting the club back to H&G times or worse.
Another MASSIVE game

What a load of complete ****e this season represents our chance of return to the champions league and our highest league finish any risk in spending big on transfers is rewarded by getting back into the champions league so in financial terms the reward outweighs the risk.Originally posted by Oberon View PostMatt, you're fighting a lonely battle, everyone knows we should get every transfer target we're linked with and all those transfers should be the best ever signing made.

This is Liverpool we exist to win leagues and trophies not we are not Arsenal who have won **** all in the last 8 years, personally I am disappointed the owners seem to be choosing not to reinforce the team as given how well we have played and the amount of top six teams that have to come to Anfield
Also if we don't get Top 4 Bye Bye Luis so there is a real incentive to finish in the Top 4 and that includes making signings before the window closes to push till May for 4th or higher
Fingers crossed we get 3 points on Tuesday, the owners pull some signings out of the bag and the injured players start to return and push on for a champions league spot and bring European nights back to Anfield

It is a little worrying that this is our best chance for a long time to break back into the top 4 and there seems to be little money available to reinforce the squad for the second half, especially with Spurs knocking on and Man Utd spending big. Maybe they're concerned with Brendans transfers so far after spending £100m on a very average collection of players, some of which have only seen what seems to be minutes of action since signing.Originally posted by souliv View PostWhat a load of complete ****e this season represents our chance of return to the champions league and our highest league finish any risk in spending big on transfers is rewarded by getting back into the champions league so in financial terms the reward outweighs the risk.

Personally, I think we'll have our best season for a long time but still finish outside of the top 4. Sadly I also think this will be our best season for several years more too.SakhoPotatoes

Sturridge, Coutinho, Mignolet, Sakho are all bang average yeah you've got that right for sure.Originally posted by tanner View PostIt is a little worrying that this is our best chance for a long time to break back into the top 4 and there seems to be little money available to reinforce the squad for the second half, especially with Spurs knocking on and Man Utd spending big. Brendan has made mistakes in the transfer market for sure but what manager doesn't ? Oh and if you need reminding we aren't able to offer CL football or big wages so we're not able to shop in the top tier of players. But despite all that we haven't been out of the top 4 all season, have scored more goals than any other team bar City and only a month ago were top of the league so clearly this manager we have who you clearly don't rate is doing something right both on the pitch and in the transfer market.

You contradict yourself, is it trophies or just top 4? I want trophies but not at the future expense of the Club, I've supported for 43 years I want another 43 and more and I want it to be successful. I never said I'd be happy with top 4.Originally posted by souliv View PostWhat a load of complete ****e this season represents our chance of return to the champions league and our highest league finish any risk in spending big on transfers is rewarded by getting back into the champions league so in financial terms the reward outweighs the risk.

With you about the 3 points on Tuesday
and
If the team continues developing, Rodgers continues to learn from setbacks and the owners keep finding new partners and sponsors, I honestly believe that within 5 years we will be a genuine title challenger every year, with realistic hopes of progressing deep into the European Cup
Can't please everyone I suppose!I don't need a lift, I need ammunition

far too sensible for you KenOriginally posted by Kenneth View PostIf we spend a lot now and get CL the cost will be recouped. If we spend a lot now and don't get fourth then Luis leaves for a bucket load of money and the cost will be recouped.

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Considering the transfers done by Rodgers, it is in my opinion a case of Dr. Jekyl and Mr.Hyde.
Sakho is the best defender at the club, Coutinho (how I wish that in the Benitez era we had an attacking midfielder like him), Sturridge great. Allen and Alberto - they have quite a good talent but they still need to prove themselves.) The others no comment.
Brendan Rodgers however is one of the best managers around in his style of play.
The nest 4 days will detemine if FSG want at least a 4th place or another summer of exodus.
