I watched the interview on Sunday & it was so painfully obvious he was talking out of his backside....

I never liked Rodgers, the guy just rubbed me up the wrong way, however, you have to look at this and think that the whole transfer situation at the club is a mess.

He was given a 'list' of players and surprisingly it didn't contain Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar and Sanchez because none of them wanted to come to Liverpool, Brendan!

Obviously he's not telling the whole story because he wants to come out looking good from this. What he's neglected in adding is that the lists he had to work from were probably very alike the ones Pardew, Monk, etc, also worked from.

And on those lists would have been the new Coutinho/Sturridges, i.e. Wijnaldum, Cabaye, Kante, Ayew, Payet, Bojan, Shakiri, Konoplyanka, etc, etc, etc. As he always had the final say from the list why did he proceed on picking Balotelli, Benteke, Lovren, etc? Because he couldn't stand proving the transfer committee scouting works (i.e. Coutinho, Sturridge - two players he didn't know about or want).

I think Rodgers is a really good manager. As he grows older I won't be surprised if he does take one team into CL qualification in Europe. However, that will only come about when he's matured and stops acting the petulant youngster he seems to be. I know because at 43 I'm still an annoying, punchable and mostly unreasonable petulant c*nt myself.

It was even more predictable as soon as he signed his new contract in the December, so we definitely had a good seven months to prepare for him leaving.

The club completely failed to put in a place a robust plan to compensate for Suarez leaving, even more damning when you consider we'd just finished runners-up, with CL footy guaranteed and a budget of around £100m. Just sticking all your eggs in the Alexis Sanchez basket doesn't constitute a robust plan.

****ing up so spectacularly takes some doing - even for us!

Remember who's saying it though. Bodgers would say whatever he could to make himself look better.

Cant believe people even debate it. 2014 was Suarez. He was that ****ing good. If he hadn't been suspended at the start we'd have won the league easy.

Im hoping he's so ****ing angry about the defeat to the mancs due to the cluster**** of mediocrity he assembled that he chins Bodgers the moment he starts talking. Right in the beak

Choosing a player from a list is the final say. Its a limited choice but still his choice.
