So Suarez scored 101 goals that season? I'm not saying he didn't have an effect but it's daft to suggest that Rodgers simply told them to go out and enjoy themselves and then sipped on mojitos all match.Originally posted by Harv View PostHe didn't "almost get us the title"
Suarez almost got us the title. Rodgers was lucky to have him, a fit Sturridge and Sterling running defences ragged doing their own thing. All he had to do was write up the team sheet.
He's delusional in his self belief. I really do wonder if he truly believes half the **** he comes out with, because he contradicts himself constantly.

It's like the time you picked up a really hot girl, but had no idea what you said or did and are unable to repeat the trick ever again.
He almost got us the title but even if we'd won, I'd wager we'd still be in this situation.

He talked about what he was asked. He seemed quite humble to me. Not playing billy big bollocks at all.

To me he sounds like a guy talking about his failures to one of the guys who helped him fail. Very nervous, almost apologetic.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostI don't really like laying into any of our ex managers, especially one that took us so close to the title, but....how do I say this......I watched last night and Brendan seems so insincere. For someone who loves the sound of his own voice so much he's incredibly inarticulate. I used to think he was a good talker too.

It's interesting though, he is talking about the 13/14 season. He actually has some interesting ideas about setting up a team offensively. You can tell even in these interviews he has zero ideas about defence.Originally posted by kev776 View PostJeez guys he has gone, he is getting Hodgsonesque levels of bitterness. Im certainly not bitter, I'm just glad he's gone.
...It is a bit of a greatest hits package. I'd love to see his tactical insight into when we lost 6-1 to Stoke. Or to Villa in the semi final

I've not watched it all yet. Quite interesting though.
'The system is irrelevant' :shakes: eems a particularly telling quote, given what was to come when we didn't have Suarez and Sturridge.

What an absolute moron he is
"I was surprised but not surprised" At Swanseas choice of manager. Which one is it you daft prick
Carra - "What defensive system do you prefer, zonal or man marking?" after they discussed how Klopp needs to sort out the set pieces
Bodgers " man on man.....long winded bloated snooze fest reasoning ensues"
Carra - "But when you came to Liverpool it was zonal marking"
Bodgers - "Yeah when your conceding goals you have to intervene at some point"
So in summery, you have no ****ing clue.
Sums this chancer up quite nicely i thought

Yeah, agreed. Nothing he's said over the past couple of days has revised my opinion on him.
He played a part in our amazing run to second spot - he helped to create the environment to get the best out of Suarez and Sturridge, helped nurture Sterling's talents and found an effective position for playing a waning Gerrard.
But... he never once set up the defense correctly - we were always susceptible to conceding goals, and his willingness to switch from a back 4 to a back 5 on a whim was deeply concerning.
His lack of ability to build a cohesive squad, settle on a winning strategy (without the shining talents of Luis and Danny), and talking utter guff to the media, showed him up for the bloke he is.

It just emphasis how badly he was at spotting a player, so much money spent on complete average players that he wanted.

I think if he was good enough Williams would have moved somewhere by now. Even the likes of Everton aren't linked. He's about found his level and will remain a good Swansea player.
