We have scored five goals five times under Rodgers. We only managed that 6 times under Rafa
    Football without Origi is nothing

Im not too concerned about us scoring goals, im more concerned about our weak defence.

Yesterday was a prime example. Back in the days of Rafa and Carra in his prime, we wouldn't have conceded like that. I remember reading an interview with Carra saying that the defence score goals by keeping clean sheets, and our defence never look like doing that
I think we have issues all over the first team not just CB pairing that performances like the one yesterday by Suarez mask pretty good.

No question that CBs positions are total mess but we need to improve pretty much in all areas of the first team.

A new LB, a DM, a CM would be nice, a goal scoring AM and a good quality winger could do us tons of good.

Our future buys need to be pretty much spot on and the emphasis needs to be on the instant quality and the first team.

We spent quite a bit in the summer and no player other than Mignolet broke it into starting 11.

Having a steady back four week in week out helps keep clean sheets and Mignolet will have better communication with them 4.

Rodgers don't seem to know what's his preferred centre halves so far this season and that culminated in us giving up 17 goals.
Stick to 2 of them BR lad and the defence will improve.

As a few said earlier why sign a 17m quid defender and keep him on the bench, crazy.
Sakho imo did ok in his appearances so far. Not great but steady and in no way shape or form to blame for all the goals we conceded when he played.

Agger & Skrtel been shaky when played although stats will tell us we kept more clean sheets when Agger played but so did Toure and he aint playing every match either.

I would play Sakho & Toure because they have the pace and physical presence to deal with big forwards but that's just me.

We have spunked a load of money on some strange purchases that could have been better spent. For me we should be looking at left back because cissoko is crap and that were desperate for Enrique to come back says everything.

A defensive midfield player, a striker and a wide player who can score for fun and if we don't get any of those then I would be happy with another marquee centre back.

We have 6 CBs atm and 3 of those are pretty decent.

I wouldn't spend any more money there.

BR just needs to pick 2 and stick with them.

Every game another pairing is pointless.

Which 3 are ok, and which of the 4 main ones are you leaving out?

CB and GK is about partnerships and building understanding. We have the quality, we just are not letting a partnership develop.

i was taking the piss about another 'marquee' centre back. We have 50 of them already.

Not sure if the rumour has been posted or we're not supposed to do that kind of stuff but there is a lot of steam behind this one. Not what we need when we're flying in the league, should I post or not mods?

Rodgers takes on Euro trip to watch highly-rated Draxler star against Basel

Brendan Rodgers personally flew to Germany last night to watch Julian Draxler star for Schalke in their Champions League victory against Basel.

The 20-year-old German international is drawing interest from clubs across Europe and the midfielder, who plays in the No 10 role, is a long-term target at Anfield.

Although Steven Gerrard is having an excellent season in the heart of the Liverpool midfield, Rodgers says he sees Gerrard, now 33, dropping into defence as he gets older, with Draxler a potential successor to the England captain.

Draxler, who burst onto the scene at Schalke at just 17, scored to send Schalke into the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Basel needed only a draw to progress but Draxler starred, picking up the man of the match award before being taken off after 66 minutes because of a groin injury.

Liverpool will face a fight to sign the highly-rated youngster, with Chelsea and Arsenal leading the charge for the playmaker.

Kevin de Bruyne, who increasingly finds himself frozen out by Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, could be used in a swap deal for Draxler.

Arsenal have long been admirers of Draxler, but last month Draxler said he needed regular first team football ahead of the World Cup, which could open the door further for a move to Anfield.
