RedSpin - I'm not sure if you're looking for a row on this? Apologies if you're not..but it reads as if that post is being antagonistic

if you live or are born in this part of Ireland, some people consider themselves British, other prefer to be called Irish.. (Where I'm from). This is a delicate subject if you're from this island of Ireland.

Brendan had a catholic upbringing ( I live about 10 miles from his village), I'm pretty sure he would consider himself Irish..

But what odds about religion or nationality?

All I care about is that he is the manager of the greatest football team in the world and he's fu*king good at it .

Official site take the right approach.......it's always 'the Northern Irishman'

Brendan might well consider himself that and/or he might consider himself Irish given his upbringing, but in the end, it's got nothing to do with the price of spuds in China.

All that matters is he is the right man for this job.

Refers to himself as British. Or at least did when he took the job and spoke of showing what a British manager can do.

He had a very wet upper lip before the match today. Apart from that he's had an exemplary season. What a manager he is.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Cheers to that. I'm Irish and really proud of Brendan Rodgers, but not because of where he's from. I admire him for doing such a good job. Every thing else is irrelevant.

It's incredible that we've now secured 3rd place at the very least. The objective at the start of the season was to challenge for 4th, not necessarily get it, but challenge.

Deserves all the credit this season, whether we in the league or not. I don't think any other manager would've achieved what he has with the same squad.

We have one of the best young managers in world football. An absolute gem. Credit to FSG for that. Younger than Simeone and Guardiola by two years. Give him an extension, more controls over transfers, and allow this man to build a dynasty.

It's been an amazing season and Rodgers deserves most if not all of the credit for that. He is getting the best out of the players, the cohesion and team spirit is incredible. I wasn't sure about him at first, but I wouldn't swap him for any other manager in the world now.

Er. .. no. Citizens of the UK are British. Citizens of the Irish Republic are Irish. But of course he is most definitely Northern Irish as well as British, in the same way that British people from other areas of the UK can be Welsh, Scottish or English as well as British

Don't make it out to mean any more than it does. It's a point of interest. Just like him appearing to have a cold today.

Besides which, national identity is for many not reducible to one descriptor. I'm sure like most human beings he identifies himself as many things to differing degrees.

One I'd ascribe to him is he's a ****ing genius
