The finest winger I have ever seen play for Liverpool, and still the last top class winger to play for us.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Seriously. Imagine what they could've achieved!

It just looked so easy for them. Every goal seemed effortless.

Would have been amazing to se them up against the great Milan team in that era, also Red Star Belgrade and later Marseille.

Reckon we would have been on 7 European Cups if we were not banned.

                Not even close.

One was a top class player, the other was a good player.

To be fair if moneyman had been better at putting them away at the end of his fabulous runs he would have been close.

His goal against Celtic still stands as one of my fave moments.

Whilst he was a good player for us for a time, I don't think McManaman comes anywhere near the great Johnny Barnes.

He was a phenomenon, who stood out in an incredible team. Him bombing down the left wing always seemed to result in a goal for us it seemed.

My favourite Liverpool player of all time, he was my boyhood hero along with A. Senna.

Think we played Real Madrid in 1988/1989 in a friendly and lost 2-0 at the Bernebeu. I remember watching the match very late at night on ITV. Seem to recall we had a first team out. Not an indication of how we’d have done in Europe, but I hope someone finds it interesting

Much as I loved Macca, Barnesy was next level.
