It just looked so easy for them. Every goal seemed effortless.
Would have been amazing to se them up against the great Milan team in that era, also Red Star Belgrade and later Marseille.
Reckon we would have been on 7 European Cups if we were not banned."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley

ThisOriginally posted by fah-q View PostWhilst he was a good player for us for a time, I don't think McManaman comes anywhere near the great Johnny Barnes.
He was a phenomenon, who stood out in an incredible team. Him bombing down the left wing always seemed to result in a goal for us it seemed.

Think we played Real Madrid in 1988/1989 in a friendly and lost 2-0 at the Bernebeu. I remember watching the match very late at night on ITV. Seem to recall we had a first team out. Not an indication of how we’d have done in Europe, but I hope someone finds it interestingOriginally posted by Tee View Post

Much as I loved Macca, Barnesy was next level."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley
