We've signed plenty of average black players over the last 20 years, just the same as every other nationality and race. We've even signed some utter ****e ones too

Barnes was one of the main reasons I started supporting Liverpool. He was amazing in a time when the skilful players didn't have much protection from referees. That only made him a better player.

I'd say the jury is out on Solanke, and Sterling was decent enough. But if you want bang average then there's the likes of Salif Diao, Ryan Babel, Pegguy Arphexhad, Victor Moses (for us)...

But then the point of this is not to slag black players - the point is that they're no different to Erik Meijer, Sean Dundee, Christian Paulsen, etc.

i saw John at a soul night at the hilton doubletree hotel a couple of weeks ago, he loves getting up and doing his thing.

Correct. Unpopular I know, but look at the evidence of who he signed afterwards for both Liverpool and Blackburn and then LFC again when he had his second go. Yes I realise that Hillsborough affected his judgement, but he clearly likes the big man up front and crosses into the box. I just don't believe he signed these players all on his own... Now ready for pelters...
