It has often occurred to me that Gerrard's career has mirrored that of another iconic England captain, Bryan Robson.

Playing mostly for a massive but largely unsuccessful club. But then at the zenith, he may also win the elusive league title which is a catalyst for prolonged success and the beginning of a spell in the wilderness for the other, now dethroned big team.

I thought that the timing of this is similar to Robson's career yesterday too

Like you won't believe. Over on Redcafe they've been ripping RAWK apart during their good spell. Within a season they're ready to 'cum on Mourinho's face', support local rivals and plastic flags and spew all manner of bitterisms.

And I thought I (we) were bad when we weren't winning.

If you gave Man Utd fans a hypothetical chance of Liverpool FC winning the league but Gerrard NOT getting a winners medal they'd sell you their daughters for it.
