What get me is that he feels he has to say he won’t be ‘downing tools’ etc. Makes me think he was disrespected in some way – the offer he was given.

I’ll hold my tongue for now, but I’m currently not a fan of FSG.

I also notice that FSG wasn’t mentioned in the interview.

I dont think he was offered a coaching role, I know Brendan said differently but Gerrard didnt mention that at all and in fact he seemed to be suggesting if he was asked to help in terms of coaching / training etc he would see if he was able to add something

Plus Carragher and some well placed local journos have also mentioned the lack of a coaching role offer
