Yeah he's brilliant. He was the football guy on Off The Ball for a few years and was really good.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostThat Ken Early article is from around a year ago - brilliant read isn't it. He's a very underrated writer.
It might just be the **** in me, but at times of canonization I prefer writers that look for the less emotive stuff. Particularly in this case because not being from Liverpool, I feel a bit distant from the local emotion of it all.Felching ≠ Gerbilling

To prove you are the greatest you do have to prove you can absolutely tear it up in the NFL.Modifying post.

Agree with this 100% - its like he's trying to be the man who has the most profound sentiment that is remembered by everyone. Like he's scrabbling around for a soundbite that will both encapsulate Gerrard and have him down as a thinker who will be remembered for it too.Originally posted by badpiggy View PostAnd I also have to say that Rodgers is at his absolute bull****ter worst in this situation. I find his tone absolutely puke-inducing at the moment and I really want the next few matches to get here asap so he'll shut the **** up.
None of this detracts from my own sadness at the end of the SG/Liverpool era.

I think one thing that is particularly well observed from the above article is this
Also that Gerrard needed an Alonso to really take the pressure off him none of this makes him less of a player mind you, he had almost peerless ability, it just shows that you cannot do it all yourself. Underlining what a talent he has - The fact is Gerrard very nearly didLeadership came naturally to players like Souness, Keane, and Vieira. At Liverpool, Gerrard had leadership thrust upon him. He's a worrier, an introvert. It's not in his nature to boss people around. For most of his career he's played for a team he knew wasn't quite good enough to succeed. He's been the brooding figurehead of an institution haunted by anxiety about its own decline.Modifying post.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Now he's off Rodgers has the perfect excuse to plsy him even less. He shouldn't start a league game unless injuries force the issue. Leave him on the bench and give him the odd twenty minutesOriginally posted by Slinky Skills View PostWonder how Rodgers will play him in his final game at Anfield.
From the start and bring him off or do what Benitez did with Hyypia and leave him on until the end?

Brilliant.
Apparently Stevie & Carra are working on a joint autobiography for their time at lfc.3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Always, keep your face to the sun, and shadows will fall behind you.

Fenway got this wrong because he should have been offered a contract much earlier, however no matter what was put on the table I dont think Stevie would have accepted as he still sees himself as an automatic starter whereas he probably isn't.
Its more about how Gerrard sees himself as a player than what Rodgers, Fenway etc... Have done but the contract should have been on the table much earlier to show intent.
