I think it's a good move for him and us, they are under performing, they have decent players and chances are he'll improve them. If he doesn't improve them, than he won't take over Liverpool. If he does a good job it will only enhance his chances at Liverpool. Either way, he needs a proper test, he needs to know the league.
The only downside is if he gets a result against us and denies us the league, he would never live that down

Hes not likely to pull up trees with villa but as long as he instills some discipline and ensures the team defend well, work without the ball and press to win it back then the building blocks will be there and maybe he can show he has what it takes to old his own against some bigger teams.
Stopping his team getting battered against some of the bigger teams will be a bonus too.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
