I really can't bear seeing Gerrard looking old or his hair turning white. It will make me feel ancient/dead.

As for his managerial career I'll say what we're all thinking and praying: hope to God he turns out a genius manager and keeps up the Klopp legacy. Not long before Klopp leaves now.
    One tit for another.

I think he would be whoever he came too, Even with a couple more years, Can't see him getting a bigger or better financed club. Could maybe seeing him getting the Leicester job, If Rodgers went to United.

It will be a disaster for Rangers if he leaves (he’s become that good) which appeals to me.

But what is Villa's perceived natural position? They think they're one of the biggest clubs in the country but are a Championship or bottom half of the PL side. Maybe a successful manager could get them 10th in the PL or so, but then that's not really going to make the manager stand out as a top four, or even top six, job contender. And there's a significant risk of getting a relegation on the CV.

He’s clearly tempted, but I can’t see him jumping ship mid season. He’s be better off going there next season, even if they do get relegated.

That's why I think he's on a hiding to nothing. They have just spent a significant amount of money on players that he hasn't chosen, they are in a relegation battle and as you say there is a mismatch between their expectations and the level they are really at. Coming in mid season means that you don't have the luxury of a bedding in period to get your ideas across, which I feel is important for a relatively inexperienced manager for the situation i.e. coming into a relegation battle.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I don't like managers leving clubs mid-season to pursue their ambitions; players can't just walk away and I think managers owe them loyalty in return. But...

If Gerrard is to be regarded as a serious option when Klopp goes, he needs esperience at a place that is more testing than Glasgow Rangers.

That bothers me too, but surely a manager can only leave if the club grant permission in the same way as a player sale

                    But this too.

Only issue there is that if Klopp leaves in 2024 as planned thats probably still too soon for Gerrard to manage the club, probably, so timing is a bit weird
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

Not sure if I want him. Id rather keep faith with the tactical system Klopp has installed, until Gerrard has proved he is a tactical genius. I agree you cannot do that at Rangers. He needs to at the very least he can compete with bigger teams by spending less money.
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

That only leaves Ljinders, which would be some leap for him

It would be a small step for Ljinders. Top man
