Celtic have won the SPL 9 - NINE - on the bounce, during which time Rangers basically went out of existence. The team he inherited were duking it out with Aberdeen in the battle for second (and losing), with less resources than Celtic.

The squad he took over had no institutional memory of winning titles - unlike Brendan who took over with Celtic already firmly on top. Plus, as an Englishman whose lived in Scotland, I promise you there is nowhere in the world with more pressure on teams/managers to win every week than there is in Glasgow on Celtic/Rangers. It’s everyone’s cup final when they play the Old Firm. Exactly the kind of expectation and intensity a Liverpool manager can expect, and a step up from Lampard guiding Derby to 6th in the Championship.

It might be that Stevie needs to replicate his success somewhere else before he gets a shot at Liverpool, but what had Jurgen really done at Mainz before he went to BVB....? Stevie and Lindjers could be the dream ticket.

There’s plenty of negativity around Scottish football, but it has produced a few gems. A certain Virgil Van Dijk developed his game for 3 seasons at Celtic. Andy Robertson was picked up from Dundee Utd. John McGinn from Hibs. I think Stevies record this season in the League and in Europe is impressive.

I didn’t see it in him. His man management and press management has improved significantly.

Equally, he is not ready for a big club yet. He needs a few trophies first.

This season at least, you really can't ask for more at this stage, topping his EL group, and a near perfect record in the League is damn impressive, I also think Rangers don't quite have the resources Celtic have yet. Weren't Celtic in the CL group stages only last season?

Anyway, I'm not talking about Gerrard coming in now, but if he keeps learning and keeps this standard, I'd bet on him at Liverpool post Klopp.

Unbelievably Stevie and Rangers are 6 wins away from winning the League. Incredible season from them.

Celtic had won eight in a row previously. Rangers have had to restart from the bottom tier of Scottish football and as such the two have different resources.

                Nobody said that though?

‘They’ve had a great season’ - that’s literally all that was said. They have.
