I don't think england fans are prepared for the dark days ahead under Bodge, enough of the media are supporting him just as blindly.

Hopefully the Capitano will head off now on holiday with his family and just chill - I'm sure it'll be a few weeks later than the rest of the lads before he arrives back at Melwood...

*1 In a way I'm glad england is out, atleast now I can watch football and not have people that clearly know nothing about football randomly throwing there stupid opinion about. Good effort to hodgson and the boys!

          *2 Gutted and here, here!

*3 decent effort by the players but hodgsons tactics are awful, of course that's just my own opinion

*1 I quite like hodgsons england, whole team seems quite well intrigated and ready to work for each other, I think we need more work in the midfield. And a few players need to get a grip. But overall good effort lol

*4 In a wierd kind of way im quite satisfied! Cant get spanked by the germans again! Some good induvidual performances, pains me to say it but i thought parker did very well! Agree with the uneducated comments bit though! Does my head in! If anything at least ashley cole is going to be
          feeling like ****!

*5Hodgson is ****e relegation/mid table team manager, so why do people think he is worthy of the England job. Just my opinion ;0)

*3 That's the least an international footballer should be giving, his tactics are prehistoric, the only way you could get more work from the midfield is having another person in there but he can't be changing his 442

*1 I'm pretty sure that england france wasn't 4-4-2. The midfield would of been better with better players. Milner is average at best. And also in fairness to roy, england are a ****e mid table team.

*3 Why not play Ox Chamberlain then or Walcott atleast they have pace, he plays Milner cause he's good at defending, It was still 2 banks of 4 against France, I'm impartial well maybe not towards Hodgson cause I've seen 1st hand how bad his football is, you are right England are ****e but I think if they had Redknapp they might of atleast had a go at attacking and not struggled against Sweden and Ukraine who are worse

          RIP IRWT post/rant, best ever

I'm finding it very difficult to give a ****. Was quite surprised that people in the pub were getting into it. I'm disappointed for Gerrard.

We'll see how the media glosses it over when the England players are watching Brazil 2014 on television.

                England vs Italy stats: Possession 32% - 68%, Pass accuracy 73% - 89% Shots (on goal) 9 (1) - 36 (8)

Better team won without any doubt.

                  Certainly the better team won.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Eurgh. Those stats are horrendous to look at, yet probably not surprising to most Liverpool fans. Four years of this, let me wave the world's tiniest England flag. Yay.

I digress though. Gerrard's last tournament or do we think he'll try and hold on to 2014? I suppose we'll be able to make a more informed decision as the new season unfolds. It will also be interesting to see if he has the legs for 90 minutes of pressing, how Rodgers utilises him and whether he will accept a stop-start campaign to preserve his playing years.

I think Gerrard will play international football for as long as he gets picked, can't see him retiring from it.

I'm guessing he'll go to the WC in 2014 as long as he doesn't pick up any injuries.

Quite sad to see the way his legs went last night. Cramping after 70 odd minutes showed the ffort he put in this tournament. Hope he retires now from England and concentrates on Liverpool FC for the last couple of years (at his highest level).

No way will Stevie retire, he'll want to go to the next world cup if he's still being picked and especially if he's the captain.

Surely Gerrard knows better than anyone that International success is just not possible under Hodgson. Nothing good is realistically gonna come of continuing to captain England and he could seriously risk tarnishing his reputation forever. Acceptable failure is about the best England can hope for, so is that really worth Gerrard putting his club career at risk at his age?

Carra got called back for the World Cup after retirement, they tried to do the same with Scholes. If I was Gerrard I’d seriously consider it too (well unless Hodgson gets sacked earlier). Sadly I can’t see it though.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
