I've been thinking that it might actually do us a favour if he does go and play a bit for England. I think they only play on the Friday against some ****e side. Gerrard right now needs game time to get fit & with England he'll be getting just that over a week before we play the mancs.

I think Stevie has made it as clear as possible to Capello that he doesn't think he should be picked for the squad. Outright refusing to travel with the squad if he is picked anyway is something completely different and I can totally understand him not wanting to go that far.

This worries me though (from a Mirror article tonight)

Seriously Capello, just **** off. Its Montenegro ffs, if you can't do this without him then you've no business going to the tournament anyway. LFC pays the guy's wages and this recovery is crucial to prolonging his career at the top level.

FFS!!!! I didn't slate him. The only thing I said is that he shouldn't even given Capello the option to pick him. I said that he should have said no I won't play even if you pick me.

It is getting very boring when people slagging me off and imagine up things I never said. I can say that Gerrard is an excellent player and in the same post I can say something negative about him.

In 99.99% of the cases then the positive thing I mentioned won't be picked up and mentioned again but the negative thing I said will be picked up.
