Gerrard's current injury problems can be directly put down to playing through pain so many times under Rafa for us. So blaming his international career is a bit ****ing daft. I've lost count the many times the man has took injections to play through the pain barrier for the club.

Gerrard should have said no over a week ago.
Now he said no either yesterday or today. That means that he hadn't ruled out playing for the national team until then.
Now I respect him because he said no. Now he is putting us ahead of the national team something he should do the rest of his career from now on. He is to injury prone to continue to play for them and for us.
He shouldn't have begged not to play. He should as I said have said no over a week ago.
But Arn, if someone had've asked him a week ago, he would've said exactly the same thing as he has said when he was asked ?
I'm struggling to follow your logic here??
Are you saying he should've rang up TalkSport a week ago, or hijacked the Soccer AM studio, to announce his views on wether he should or shouldn't be called up to England or not??
Arn - it's pretty simple, support the man - he is our captain, our talisman, our leader, our heartbeat. We're blessed to have him.
I, like many other Kopities, got a warm buzzy feeling when i seen him coming on on Saturday against the Bitters....he's a gem - I love him...
Can you express the same emotions for our captain? If not, you need to take a long hard look at yourself and seriously question your allegiance to LFC..

Why does it matter when he said it? It's completely irrelevant. In fact, it carries more weight that he said it now - because it came after the derby, in which he played no more than 25 mins (an indication that his fitness isnt there yet) and because he can point to that game and claim that, having played the last 25 mins, he still doesnt feel ready. Perfectly timed when you see it that way.Originally posted by Arn View PostThis is what I said.

If he'd said it a week ago, England would have had every right to ask "How do you know now, how fit you'll be feeling in a week's time?"
And as for what you said...
He is putting the national team before us and that is simply idiotic considering his injury problems.
Except, he wasnt because the decision hadnt been made at that point - yet, you judged him on it anyway. It's a bit like someone being arrested for robbery, before they'd even done it, on the assumption that they were going to do it. Ridiculous.
Just admit you got it wrong and you'll make yourself look a much bigger person. Stevie deserves praise for the way he's dealt with this situation and any Red who supports the club, rather than thinking one person is bigger than LFC, would praise him for it.

Arn's allegiances are with Rafa more than with LFC, it seems.
No one person is bigger than the club, but i think that's how Arn sees it.

Its really weird. He's turned out 10s and 10s of times for us when nowhere near fit, he's stayed here all his career and his commitment is questioned and he has lies spread about him!!Originally posted by BringbackBiscan View PostGerrard's current injury problems can be directly put down to playing through pain so many times under Rafa for us. Utterly baffling but its rumoured he wasnt all that arsed Rafa went and thats who Arn supports.

Has it occurred to you that he didn't come out and say no until he was actually approached about playing? If it was the case that he wasn't going to be considered anyway, he'd have looked a bit daft (and up himself) if he came out first and said he wouldn't play.Originally posted by Arn View PostNow he said no either yesterday or today. Arn, you're clearly a passionate and vocal Liverpool fan, but sometimes you do come across as a dogmatic arse. It's probably doing you a real disservice, so at least consider winding your neck in a bit?

It's baffling...I think Arn is actually like the Wizard of Oz... You know the story - he's like this big voice - but when you pull back the curtain, it's only a wee weasel of a man...I actually think Arn is really Gary ****ing Neville... The ******* rat son of Neville Neville

Arn mate, your obviously going through a tough time at the minute and I'm sure that everyone understands, but try not to take it out on everyone lad, people aren't doing it to pick on you as such, they are just doing it because they sometimes need justification for points that you make, because some of them to be fair are a bit "out there" to say the least. It's obvious you love football but sometimes you might have to think about what you say before you say it, and try and not get pissed offOriginally posted by Arn View Post**** off

I think something we can all agree on is the fact that we are pleased that our captain is on the mend, and will be back in our first team soon, now we just need Johnson back in the squad. The times they are a changin'.

Chris versus Arn - it's just fascinating.
.
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

yeah hopefully...as it stands - i'd like to see something like this against the mancs...Originally posted by Pablo1981 View PostAlmost certain to start against the Mancs isn't he?
Two weeks more full training, and I'm guessing a couple of specially arranged practice matches.
I'd be amazed if he's not on the team sheet come October 15th
