It's like when you're out with your mrs and you see that ex you loved and lost, across the street. She's all happy cos she's shagging an Italian and your mrs has a bit of a limp and a constant scowl.

I wince more seeing this thread title on the index than I do when I notice the Circumcision thread..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Rafa, Alonso, Mascher, Riise, Crouch, Bellamy... I'd have them all back.
Alonso wanted to play for Madrid, and nothing would have stopped him, Mascher left once Rafa left...Riise made one too many mistakes, as i think did Rafa though getting rid, Crouch got to big ...yes, too big for his boots, wanted to be a regular..but willing to settle for similar terms at Spurs but just not at LFC, Bellamy like Reira...attacked a team mate.Originally posted by kingfunk View PostAnd why did nearly all them players leave???

i think Alonso partially wanted to go because of Rafa, however even taking that into account i dont know what would have happened if they came knocking and he hadnt had his fall out. Though look at Fabregas he wants to be at barca, however they dont need the money.Originally posted by Vermilion View PostAlonso wanted to play for Madrid, and nothing would have stopped him, Mascher left once Rafa left...Riise made one too many mistakes, as i think did Rafa though getting rid, Crouch got to big ...yes, too big for his boots, wanted to be a regular..but willing to settle for similar terms at Spurs but just not at LFC, Bellamy like Reira...attacked a team mate.

(Reuters) - Rafael Benitez is glad to be working with someone who knows their soccer in Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti after the coach said he spent his last year at Liverpool with directors who knew nothing about it.
The Spaniard joined the European and Italian champions in the close season having left Liverpool after six years in charge of the Premier League club.
"The last year at Liverpool I had directors who knew nothing nothing about soccer and you couldn't talk about soccer with them," he told a news conference on Tuesday without specifying who he meant by "directors."
"My relationship with president Moratti is good, he is a man who knows his soccer."
His relationship with Liverpool's American owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett, who put the indebted club up for sale in April, was strained at times but Benitez had previously stayed silent about his Anfield exit.
Benitez, whose new side are joint top and host Bari on Wednesday in their fourth Serie A outing of the season, took over from Real Madrid-bound Jose Mourinho after Inter sealed an unprecedented Italian treble last term. Are we winning?

Quite a lot of guys with Rose tinted specs on this thread.
Rafa made Liverpool invincible at times but we also had some dreadful runs under him too that always undermined us when challenging for the league.
he had two good results, 2nd place an Champions League winners.
Pretty Good and I'd take that from Roy, but not really good enough over all.
No matter how nostalgic you get, last season was shocking and he was responsible.
I doubt he will be invited back.
too much conflict.Jacques Brel is alive and well and playing at Anfield

There's nothing 'rose tinted' to say that Rafa is a better manager than Roy Hodgson, as things stand. If in 3 years time Roy wins us an FA Cup and a CL medal, then I'll readily place him at the same level.
If we ended sacking our managers after one bad season in charge and it's deemed acceptable, then I can fear the worst, especially if the trend continues. Are we winning?

And I suppose the other CL runs count for nothing? Same with the FA cup too?Originally posted by 5europeancups View PostQuite a lot of guys with Rose tinted specs on this thread.

Even though some people criticise his brand of football, I'm most thankful for bringing football lightyears ahead of Houllier's teams. Getting players like Alonso, Luis Garcia etc which made us a genuine passing team again.
I do agree things needed some freshening up, and not defending his last season but there's a hell of a lot of work which he put in which gets overlooked. I'd be delighted to see him manage us again some time down the line.

Couldn't help but notice this the other day.

That's disgraceful, agenda-driven and another example of the media's vendetta against Rafa.
Firstly, in a bid to emphasise Crouch's ****ness and also Rafa getting his 'facts wrong', they say:
Using the 'all competitions' barometer. In fact current Spurs man Crouch went a staggering 19 matches in all competitions without finding the net after joining Liverpool from Southampton.
The next line says:
....in the league. He managed 18 for us in all competitions one season (26 for the season including England games)...interesting how they choose to manipulate the stats. His record hardly improved as the England man failed to top 10 goals in any of the next three seasons.
And all so they can mock Benitez. It's ridiculous. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
