I'm not quite sure how I feel about it. They are the only two men who I would want to be managing the club and one of the best things about Kenny has been how he has been willing to give credit where it is due to previous regimes. The Purslow led, Hodgson backed talk of how bad everything Rafa had done was grated at the time but the more young players come through the worse it seems.

I would have loved Rafa to have stayed to see the benefits of the building he had done. That said it is not clear he would have been as positive with the young players or had Kenny's knack of relaxing them.

I'm very happy to have Dalglish in charge. I would have been quite happy had Benitez been backed properly and stayed in charge too.

The choice between them is purely hypothetical.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Kind of how I feel too. I'm loving Kenny being in charge. I'd hate it if Rafa went another English club so in that sense I'm worried we'll miss our chance to get him back But I'm not convinced the owners would go back to him anyway, and I do think that Kenny definitely deserves a full season to see how far he can really take us

On the youth thing, I think it's fair to say that we're starting to see Rafa's legacy in terms of his insistence on restructuring the whole academy setup by these youngsters coming through. I know the ones that have played under Kenny have been local lads, but would it have been possible under a different set of coaches? The ones Rafa brought in seems to have spurred the kids on to another level.

Can anyone see Rafa going to Madrid this summer? I think that would be a clever move by the Madrid board honestly. With the sort of players they have and budget, I think he would out do Mourinho. Rafa is available, the best one they can get for the job, and this is great timing for Rafa as well.

I don't think he's a good fit for Madrid. I mean his teams obviously aren't as regressive as Mourinho's but let's not kid ourselves, he's not the buccaneering free spirit they seem to crave.

                  That said, who is?

The manager they had last year who let Real to the highest number of points ever, and only smashed by an even more crazy point tally by Barca.

Pellegrini was a very good fit, and it was crazy they let him go.

I wouldn't be shocked to see them keep a key eye on Villa Boas @ Porto.

The thing is that his early teams were more in that mould. Given the playing staff at Madrid you wonder whether he would strike a more attacking balance. The problem is the Mourinho legacy within the squad which affected him at Inter, although this time at least the Real squad seems hungry.

I think he would be better off taking another job first. Give someone else a chance to deal with the downside of Jose's bunker mentality.

A dream combination would be to have Rafa instead of Comolli and KK as manager.

Rafa with all his connections and he already proved that he can make good deals himself if you believe Reade.

Two men that respects the club 100% and work very well together.

Rafa would never work in the function of sporting director, he is much to controlling a man to ever be satisfied with that.
