      * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Flawless victory there for all the sensible informed Liverpool fans.

          Did he reply to Tomkins?

I would love Sky to do a Sunday Supplement type with as many journalists as they like against either Tomkins or Rafa. Everyone of them would get owned and publicly embarrassed and maybe people would finally understand just how much crap was made up regarding Rafa.

Skrtel cost 11.3 million in today's money while Ferdinand cost a whopping 50.6 million!!
FYI Berbatov is the most expensive player in England at 53.5 million pounds...
Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

the thing is rafa was hired to win the prem and didnt and spent a lot of money trying to do it.

those are facts. however things are not that simple there are other facts that put things in context and when context is added you get the real story dont you.

it would be easy to say ancelotti was a failure at chelsea this time last year but not many would

is wenger a failure these days?

Rafa traded his way up to masch torres etc. so it looks like he spent alot of money when in real terms he didnt spend that much.

look at how quickly he turned made the club step up a level.

also if rafa is crap at buying players does that mean every other manager is crap at buying players? i cant see he made many more mistakes than any other manager

Fact is the 'spending' was offset by the value he generated with the players he sold, so in context he hasn't 'spent' a lot of money and he came within a whisker of winning the league. This is the kind of **** that some people don't understand and it peddles this myth that so many journalists and fans encourage.
                Are we winning?

i am not disagreeing with you but it is a fact he spent a lot of money. what is missing is the context that you have added. that was my point, they are selective about the facts they use and ignore the context. however arguing that the facts are not facts doesnt help, much better to point out the selectiveness and lack of context

That happens to everyone that "attacks" Fergie, their darling. If you do that then the media will paint you out like an idiot.

Remember the "rant" by Rafa when he attacked Fergie and told everyone how corrupt the FA and PL is. After that he had no chance in the media.

Instead of doing something about the corruption they decided to do whatever they needed to do to make him look as bad as possible.

The media had no problem with Wenger until he started to attack Fergie. Suddenly the media talked a lot of **** about him.

I dunno about that. I seem to remember an awful lot of dirt going in Wenger's direction in his first six months at Arsenal.

But yeah, it's pretty clear there's something of an institutionalised bias towards Ferguson across the media, whereby journalists keep in with him and his circle in order to get/retain access.

I think the media have mostly been pretty kind to Wenger (after the initial period of ill informed slagging). He gets the odd ribbing for his inability to see anything but rarely or buy defenders but generally he is praised to the hilt first. I get the impression that his personal openness to journalists has stood him in good stead.

Some awesome replies, namely from Tomkins who puts him right in his place.

It's an age old debate that most of us seen countless times, but I'm posting this mainly so I can post these hilarious rebukes. I think it's a C&P job as I'm sure those posts became forum legend for a while.

Yeah that's all from a couple of posts by someone on one of the BBC blogs! Absolutely hilarious!
