fair point. I suppose he may well just be feeding back info his wife passed on to him from the last ladies lunch!!! It highlights an area where he would struggle if he were aiming to become a top level manager. His comments are naive in the extreme.

How those comments have come back to haunt us. Sadly being british is about all the players we have signed have in common with the greats Kenny played along side.

        Such as?

(I think the England manager/bus driver comments were totally misconstrued)

It would be out of context if it were throwaway comments but he's said similar things in the past. Don't think we're over elaborating it.

Probably not at first. Depends what I observe and see when I'm first there. (If I based it only on what I've read in the press). It'd be a case of getting to know him and seeing how he behaves around the place.

He said it took him back to when he used to watch Liverpool, when the squad was mainly british. He's just saying what's true - when he watched us before, it WAS a largely british squad. Nothing in that really.

Carra: "it was interesting that my wife could actually talk to some of the other wives without having to think of something in Spanish or French or something different."

His comments sound like he had a problem with there being foreign wives there.

As i've said, they sound a bit xenophobic but i dont think he's intended that. Just prefer people to not say anything if they cant make sure they express themselves properly.

I definitely don't want to defame what Carragher has done for the club. He is a legendary servant. But these comments are slightly insulting to some of the players and managers who have brought us some of our most exciting games and goals in recent years. Alonso, Garcia, Reina, Kuyt, Suarez, Lucas, Rafa, Houllier, Hyypia, Risse and dare I say Torres - obiovulsy not close friends of his. His comments come across as narrow minded in the multi cultural society we live in, and in particular in the multi cultural environment he works in.

                  he's clearly saying it's a good thing.

                  Anyway, storm in a teacup.

To be honest, the original article was really good and an accurate appraisal of where the club is right now. The Carra comments are not great but we are concentrating on only one detail in an article that was really well thought out. Pointing out the strengths and weaknesses of both the cureent and previous regimes. It was also pleasingly dismissive of the Hodgson regime, the analogy that the club and its supporters rejecting Hodgson as the body would reject a wrong organ donation seemed particularly apt.

What a piece of ****. Cant believe he'd prefer to sit round the dinner table with people who speak his own language. Despicable.

Funny how hatchet jobs are tolerated on here if its against Carra but dare say a word against Rafa and you are "agenda ridden scum".

Fanning used to be good when he was just sticking up for Rafa in the face of pathetic criticism about "zonal", "rotation" bla bla but he's become a snide cunt. Heres to him having to issue another grovelling apology to Carra.

Very true. No point in concentrating on one small and ultimately unimportant element (unless it's represenatative of where we're going...) in an excellent article. Carra is under the impression that football happiness if not excellence can be found in a best of British formula - good luck to him and glad his wife is happier than when Rafa and his bloody foreigners were here. It is understandable and not in any way racist to find comfort in familiarity but he shouldn't ****in forget who he won the CL with and have a bit more respect. As fans, we consider lots of those foreign players to be legends.
