I wish we could just make him head of youth development or something.

Like he's going to jump at that chance

He needs ti be a club and start managing soon. Milan is a risk because of the lack of money + too many **** players on their books now but it is a risk worth taking.

Him being offered the Milan job sounds extremely improbable to me.

Bit of a poisoned chalice at the minute any way. They've let the old guard go and don't seem to have recruited well. Expectations are well above when is realistically achievable for them.

It sounds very probably to me. Rumors aren't new. They have been there since a month or so.

And Milan right now really don't have much of a choice. No top coach would touch them. Rafa's is a different case as he has been out of a job for quite some time now.

I think they're more likely to be after him than he is being interested in the job. Hated Italy last time by all accounts. I reckon they're probably after him but I'll be surprised if he's interested.

Yeea early in the season, the expectations were high but now their fans understand that it will take some time.

They need to offload a lot more players and bring in fresh blood.

A look at their wiki page shows they have more than 40 players on their books

Don't think he hated Italy as such but their mode of operation (Director recruiting players) is a bit off putting after the kind of freedom Rafa and English managers in general experience at their time in England.

Well personally he did, his family hated it and I don't think he liked either.

Well he definitely piled the pounds on, so probably he hated his time there

Former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez could be set for a shock return to management with AC Milan, according to reports in Italy.

After losing their Serie A crown to Juventus in May, Milan have endured a turbulent start to this season - they've lost two of their three opening games in Serie A and began their Champions League campaign with a disappointing draw at home to Anderlecht on Tuesday night.

Unsurprisingly, speculation over the future of manager Massimiliano Allegri is already starting to intensify, and Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani is thought to be keen on Benitez, who has been out of work since leaving Milan's rivals Inter in December 2010.

Despite Benitez's mixed spell at Inter - he landed two trophies, but won just six of his 15 league games in charge - Galliani was impressed by the Spaniard's work at Liverpool, where he won the Champions League, the FA Cup and guided the Merseyside club to their strongest title challenge in nearly 20 years.

Allegri's job is believed to be safe for now, but should results worsen over the next two weeks, Galliani could look to bring Benitez back to Italy.

He needs to get back into managment sooner rather than later in my opinion, because people are going to start to wonder if he's maybe been out the game too long. Obviously that would be bollocks, but it would just give critics another stick with which to beat him.

When we try and think of clubs that would be good for him, it's a struggle isn't it. He needs somewhere he's going to be given time, a reasonable budget, a decent level of control, and by his own admission he wants to be at a club where he can win things. How many clubs of that nature are there?

Such a shame he couldn't work with BR is some capacity. He would shore up our defence, thats for sure.

He's going to have to lower his standards. At the level he's aiming for the pool of possibilities is ever decreasing. Depressing.
