"In Madrid [during the 2010 Champions League final], he told me that he was leaving. I said to him: 'Damn you for leaving me with Benitez.'
"I did not get on well with Benitez. I had the front pages from newspapers showing the most important moments of my career, Inter with Mou [Jose Mourinho], Italy with [Marcelo] Lippi and Benitez made me take them down.
"He thought he knew everything, but he was afraid of his own shadow."
Benitez was still LFC manager at that time of the final, we wasn't sacked for another couple of weeks. And it was a further week until he was installed at Inter Milan.
It is common knowledge that Rafa struggled following the amazing season Inter had but ****house players like Everton-reject Materazzi can **** off.
He was the best manager we've had in over 20 years, possibly since Paisley, so when a ****house player with an attitude problem talks complete bollocks then its worth pointing that out.

He was negotiating with Juventus for a quarter of that season and it became evident in the last few months of Pellegrini's reign at Real Madrid that Jose Mourinho would become his successor next season. He could've easily been in contact with Moratti during those last few months.
Not surprised that he was aware of Mourinho's successor. Anyway, he can have his opinion without being called a ****house just because he doesn't like Benitez.
