Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson says former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has replaced Roberto Di Matteo at Chelsea at a fortunate time.

Benitez won the World Club Cup with Inter soon after taking over from Jose Mourinho and could to do so again when Chelsea play in the event next month.

"Rafael Benitez is very lucky," Ferguson said.

"On his CV in two weeks he could have two world championships and nothing to do with the construction of the teams."

Is he not right though? Fergie is a master manipulator of the media but he is right these his world club championship comments. Don't see the big deal in them to be honest.

I lost faith in Rafa long time ago but glad he is back for someone else, same as i hope Guardiola & Mourinho come to the premier league. Makes things much more interesting...you need these types of characters & it shakes things up a bit. I'm looking forward and curious to see how Benitez does.

His 'dig' is laughable because he lauds Di Matteo before attempting to troll Benitez. His 'point' is piss weak because Di Matteo waltzed into Chelsea and, with an inherited team he did not construct, won the FA Cup & CL. LOL. Ferguson must've forgotten in that haze of alcohol.

Di Matteo got bit lucky IMO but fair play anyways. Got points on the C.V. and a bumper pay off.

I actually thought Fergie was going to mention Rafa inheriting Cuper's Valencia side as i was reading the article.
