I think, wrongly, he doesn't have a reputation as a big name manager.

I thought in theory, his idea of team ethos and tactical awareness could turn Madrid into a really dangerous side combined with their obvious footballing ability.

The reality is that he's probably faced with quite a few ******s in there who won't take his ideas on board as he doesn't have the reputation.

Graham Hunter seems to think the dreaded vote of confidence is going to be issued

Hunter thinks he'll keep Rafa in place to protect Perez - if he is sacked and then replacement fails then he (Perez) comes
      under great pressure.

i said it before he was on a hiding to nothing..too much player power there like chelsea,no club values or nothing...i remember when they got rid of Del Bosque on the back of winning the European cup and other trophies.

Cristian Maxedo of Eurosport's Madrid office believes that Real Madrid's press conference tonight does not spell the end for Rafa Benitez.

Sure, Real Madrid have just announced a press conference for tonight, but that's something that we would expect after the disaster in the Clásico -

and especially after Florentino Pérez was booed by fans during the match. We think they are not going to fire Rafa Benítez.

Instead, they will actually strengthen Benítez’s position, showing their total support for him. We also think Pérez will deny the rumours that he either dictated or suggested the starting XI for the match against Barcelona.
All of the rumours in Madrid currently point this way, at least. But being Florentino
          Pérez… only God knows!

He falls out with everyone everywhere he goes. It's his one big failing as a Manager and has stopped him from going on to be one of the all time greats.

                  So does Mourinho though.

Kind of agree with this. He doesn't pander to egos but really, I think a top manager should have those tools and abilities at his disposal cos you will need them with some of the dickheads who happen to be extremely talented footballers.

Ferguson didn't exactly get on with everyone either

Fergie was king of the castle and a serial winner - that helps.

He has zero man management skills, with egos these days that type of management doesn't work. Messi and Ronaldo have huge egos, managers have to pander to them somewhat... But at the same time they score 60 goals a season. It's worth giving credit where it's due to exceptional talents.

Madrid haven't been that good under Rafa, recently they've been very poor. Sevilla battered them could have been more and barca destroyed them at home. He's on borrowed time and personally I thought it was a horrible fit from the get go.

Madrid really are a joke of a club though and sure who else would they get in? Said it when Rafa joined them, hope he has a nightmare. Despise Madrid as a club and their fans are ridiculous, not a huge fan of Rafa either so don't really give a ****.

Perez was an absolute fool to sack Ancelotti. Why the he'll he chose to get rid of him is beyond anyone.

Perez is a ******. Ancelloti is an outstanding manager.
