Don't know why, but that had me in stitches.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Rafa will no doubt have a massive grin on his face with that result for two reasons.

Rafa to West Ham............... I hope not, the club is toxic & it would be a terrible move for him. **** board, **** ground, **** fans; even before you get to the playing staff.

I get Newcastle have problems (or at least a problem) but so do most of those types of clubs in the 7-15th type positions. I don't see any sense in swapping one club for another in a similar situation with a different set of problems. Especially if you have the fans on your side like he does..

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

That would be a great move by West Ham, but I think they are after Pellegrini.

Rafael Benitez: Spain wanted Newcastle boss at World Cup

Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez was approached by the Spanish Football Federation about taking temporary charge of Spain at the World Cup, BBC Sport understands.

The RFEF wanted the 58-year-old after Julen Lopetegui was sacked two days before Spain's opening match.

Fernando Hierro took charge on an interim basis as they went on to lose on penalties to Russia in the last-16.

Ex-Barcelona coach Luis Enrique has now been appointed on a two-year contract.

Speaking to the Newcastle Chronicle, Benitez said: "There was maybe a chance, but still I am here and I am happy to be here. There was a chance. There were rumours about that."

Newcastle to 'wheel and deal' in transfer window
Benitez has said that Newcastle may have to sell before they can buy players in the transfer window.

Newcastle have so far signed goalkeeper Martin Dubravka on a permanent deal after a loan spell last season, former Swansea midfielder Ki Sung-Yueng has joined on a free and they re-signed Brazilian attacker Kenedy on loan from Chelsea.

"Unfortunately it's what we have to do," said Benitez, "We have to wheel and deal, that is the way for us.

"We have to be realistic with our budget, and then maybe sell some players and buy some players."
                            Oh I don't know.

Poor Rafa. Still 'wheeling and dealing' while we are breaking records for fun.

I wonder who would have been on Rafa's shopping list, had the resources the club have now been available?
                                Oh I don't know.
