So. The latest big sporting social media outrage erupted on Wednesday evening when referee Keith Stroud awarded Burton a free-kick after Newcastle's Matt Ritchie had his penalty disallowed for encroachment by team-mate Dwight Gayle.
Sadly for Stroud, the rules state that if the attacking team does encroach the box as the ball finds the net then the kick is retaken.
In simple terms he got it wrong and apologised for the mistake.
Luckily for Keith, the Championship leaders won.
