We talk about tactics for a while as Benitez scrolls through various matches that have caught his interest as of late. He's particularly intrigued by what Borussia Dortmund does, "When I was a young coach, I liked AC Milan," said Benitez, "now I think Borussia Dortmund is doing a really good job. They play with four defenders high, they press high, they go with their fullbacks forward all the time, with wingers inside. If they have to play direct football they go to support quickly and if they give a goal away they press with 2-3 players on the ball. They're very good with their movements." Obviously the current Barcelona and Real Madrid squads also stand out, but Benitez is keen to emphasize that what helps make both teams special is their willingness to press when they lose the ball and the intensity of their pressing.
Also, I can't believe he still employes his staff. They are a fully functioning management team without a football club.
I can see why Aquilani was bought as Jovetic was supposed to follow him...it makes sense now!
That Purslow is a ****ing snake!
Jovetic would have added a massive new dimension to our play. Saying that, he's been a bit of a crock as well. He may well have gone the same way as Aquilani.
Still, nice to see that he wanted to bring in intelligent, ball playing midfielders. It's clear to see how he wanted us to develop.
A bit of a crock yes, also one of the biggest divers I've ever seen, but what a player. Hasn't he scored something ridiculous like 47% of Fiorentina's goals this season?
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
I want him to come back, whether it be now or ten years time.
Dont care what people say with this should never go back bollocks
So do I, it's unfinished business for Rafa & I've no doubt that he will win over the doubters who are against him coming back.
While I love Kenny & hope he does succeed but in the event of him giving up or let go, I would give Rafa the chance again as we were so close with him last time!
Rafa, with the right backing, can turn us into contenders again without doubt!
He would work with Clarke & Keen also with the director of football too putting emphasis on hoovering up all the brilliant young guns around Spain at the moment like Martinez etc.
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!
