    LEADER??????

Emre Can was the only one I saw shouting and getting the backline to push up. Constantly waving his arm at them to get the line to push up. Sakho & Skrtel should be embarrassed.

On another note, he had a good game individually. I agree he's a good defender and his distribution is decent.

Madness isn't it. Still seeing folk on Twitter slaughtering him for a couple of misplaced passes last night. One of the most divisive players I can remember, but I just do not get it. He's good. That's it.

Dont know who was on Co Comms last night, but he was saying that he thinks Skrtel is our best CB and makes everyone around him play better.

            Madness!!

Only thing I dont like about Sakho is that he looks so ungainly and really swoops down low to pass the ball. It looks odd.

Defensively, he's brilliant. An absolute beast.

Danny Murphy. Guy had a nightmare. Said "Coutinho normally curls them into the bottom corner" and had a hard on all night for Skrtel's leadership qualities and what a hardman he is

He was also desperate for Sakho to make a mistake. Called him "ponderous". Unreal

Thats it. I remember him calling Skrtel a Hardman

Surely someone can post a clip of the tackle halfway through the 2nd half where the Wimbledon lad overran it then went in late and did Sakho who just left him in a heap on the floor and got up.

Was about 10 mins after Skrtel was lying crying on the floor after landing funny while everyone else defended for their lives, they hit a shot over and he got up and carried on.

Skrtel a leader, or aggressive or brave? do me a favour.

And was constantly saying that Markovic has been a poor signing, only to then realise he's actually quite good. He clearly hasn't watched him for the past month since he started to find form. Terrible commentator.

That "ponderous" remark followed a really nice bit of play aswell but instead of crediting him for it he slagged him off and talked as if it was a fluke. It's really bizarre. It's like he's been judged on that whole mad 4 minutes he had away to City last season (which didnt even cost us a goal) and nothing can change it! Kinda like where Reina was called "a clown" for 3 years because he made an error away to Everton once though that coverage was never this bad.

He is from the Ronnie Whelan school of punditry and commentary. Knows **** all about the players and teams he is talking about.

He was moaning at the start of the season about how Lallana was not living up to expectations even though Lallana was out injured at the time and had not even made his competitive debut for the club at that point.

Last night he at one point was on about how the pitch gave no advantage to AFC Wimbledon due to it being of good quality and how that suited Liverpool, then in the second half he made comment about how the poor quality of the pitch was making things harder for Liverpool.

With minutes of the game starting it was pretty clear he had his mind made up as to who was going to be playing well for the 90 minutes and who was playing poorly.

Sakho, and Markovic were on his **** list from the first whistle, whereas the likes of Gerrard, and Skrtel were being praised regardless of what happened on the pitch.

Sakho was clumsy, and ponderous, yet Skrtel was brave, tough, showing that he was a top class defender, and a hardman according to Murphy

At one point Gerrard tried a Hollywood ball that went out of play and Murphy was praising Gerrard for having to vision to attempt the pass, then a few minutes later Sakho pinged a lovely cross field ball that went straight to a Liverpool player and there was a lack of similar lavish praise for Sakho despite the fact that Sakho's pass actually found a teammate.

Solid game last night, although they had very little on that side as opposed to Tubbs and Rigg losing Manq and Can on a few occasions as they grew into the game.
Usual panic stations at the back with the set pieces and a few misplaced passes, but I was happier with his performance than his Leicester one where he was frequently pulled around and chasing the play.

Then again......it was only a League 2 side.

                                About ****in time too Bren!

Brendan Rodgers says Mamadou Sakho has grasped his chance to shine since being handed a Liverpool recall.

The £18million centre-back has been one of the Reds’ most consistent performers in recent weeks and is expected to retain his place for Saturday’s trip to Sunderland.

Sakho endured a torrid first half of the campaign as he struggled with both fitness and form.

He was forced to issue an apology back in September after storming out of Anfield when he discovered he hadn’t even made the bench for the Merseyside derby.

The French international didn’t start a game for three months but injury to Dejan Lovren led to his return to the side for last month’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal.

The 24-year-old defender has been part of a three-man backline for the past five matches and Rodgers has been impressed with his contribution.

“Mamadou worked hard during his time out of the side,” Rodgers told the ECHO.

“Obviously he has come back in and played five games in a short period of time. He has taken his opportunity and has settled back in very quickly.”

Sakho, who was hailed by Reds chief executive Ian Ayre as a ‘marquee signing’, has been unable to nail down a place at Anfield since his arrival from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2013.

He only made 19 appearances last season and has added just 11 to that tally so far this term. But Rodgers insists bringing in Sakho was always a long-term investment and now he’s hoping he will realise his full potential.

“He’s still relatively young in centre-back terms,” Rodgers added.

“Martin Skrtel has great experience but some of our other defenders are very inexperienced. Mamadou wasn’t in the team at PSG when he came here. That’s the reality of it.

“Before they spent a lot of money in the transfer market to bring in players he was playing there. But at that time he came here he wasn’t playing and wasn’t getting experience.

“What he has been given here is an opportunity. Hopefully now he can really devote his time to the profession and make sure he’s fully fit to play games.”
