In all fairness 'kneejerk' and 'writing off' are probably the wrong turn of phrase to use. I was recalling how I felt at the time when reading quite a few of what I felt to be overly negative comments about a young lad making his debut in a new league in a difficult position to play as a player.

I accept now that this was insensitive of me and I apologise unreservedly for any offence I may have caused.

In the first game he made two wild lunges that missed the ball and (thankfully) the man, and ended up on his arse both times. Since then he hasn't been as wild, though he has still maintained that agressive intent when he makes challenges, which is exactly what we want - somebody to rattle the forwards and give them something to think about instead of letting them get the ball calmly under control to continue the attack.

Best game for us so far, getting better and better with each passing week. His composure on the ball and strength are phenomenal, I would love to see a central pairing of himself and Toure although Skrtel hasn't put a foot wrong
